Michelin HydroEdge
What does anyone think about the Michelin HydroEdge tires? They seem to have some of the best ratings in every category. http://www.michelinman.com/catalog/t...etype=1&tire=0 They say these wont fit the OEM specs for the 99 TL but i beleive you can make them fit. Checked on TireTrack http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....odel=HydroEdge and it seems to have very good ratings too, even in light snow. Thats the advantage over the Conti Extreme because they have NO traction in snow. Anyone tired these?

I just installed a set on my GM minivan, to replace those crappy Firestones..
I have less that 1000km on them, and I can tell you they have good stiff side walls with a very comfortable and quite ride. ( remember I was on those Firestones... :yack: ). I havnet put them trough much of a test yet but at 75mph they are very stable. Very pleased so far

Why dont you try these, much better tires. I have these and in my opinion and have nothing but positives to say about these tires:
Continental Conti Extremes
Plus you can get them in our stock TL size and they are cheaper too. Lot of memebers have these tires.

I could get a full set of the conti extreme's for $160. I can a free manager set a year but I have been told that they do not get much traction at all in the snow/ice conditions. If yall say they are good, i guess i will try them out if i can get a set it my size.

research the speed ratings- they are such a farce and have no relevance to any way we operate the car
The testing is a euro spec thing- due to autobahn speeds
The tire is rolled against a drum at various speeds - but its not an actual rating of max or sustained speed the tires can handle- and thats on a 15 minute run iirc
So few of us will ever need 100+ mph tires....those that do will buy them specific to their needs for track racing
I like my General Exclaim UHP- while rated #1 summer performance by tire rack- they got the industry approval standard of M&S mud/snow as well
They do ok in light snow, but dont like sustained below freeezing temps
The rubber compounds are different than regular basic MS tires
Awesome wet or dry--
summer is not about just sunny days- research research research
