Maximum width on stock 16" wheels

Hi guys -

I don't want to change my stock 16" wheels (for the moment), but am hating my OEM tires, and am looking for something with more performance and better looks.

What would you suggest as the maximum I could get away with without ANY problems using my stock wheels (I don't want any rubbing). I live in a snowy area so I will use the same tires all year.

Will 225 55 16's fit? Any other suggestions or considerations? I really do not want any problems.. just a mid-40's guy looking for a little better look..

Yes 225/55/16 will fit.

I would say 225 is the widest you want to use.

I have 225/55/16s and H&R Sports, it rubs when you floor your TL while doing a U. other than that, it doesn't rub.
