Man Hour for A-Spec installation
Hi, I called in a nearby Acura dealer for A-SPEC suspension installation and they quote me 8 hour (about 700$). What does anyone else charged? Is the spring already on the shock or is it separate when it comes? My A-Spec is on shipping and I can't check it.
Thanks for the help guys.

Scott over at Acura of Escondito told me that they charged 4 hours.
(Thats is where I got the Comtech RSB and the ASPEC suspension.)
A (non Acura) shop near where I live ( KY) quoted 5.5 hours for about 374.00
The nearest Acura shop wants over 500.00 for the suspension install.

Me, $200. But that's another story. Do it yourself.....it really is easy and there is plenty of support for you on this forum as you know. The dampner and spring come as one unit preassembled on all four. Dealerships overcharge. The job truthfully takes about 2 hours at the most.

Hey man, I just picked mine up 2 hours ago!!! I freakin' love it!!! I just checked out my bill ... they don't have the hrs on there, but do have a price. I was quoted 4 hours for the suspension (6 hrs at another dealer) anyway, they charged me $146 for the front and $146 for the rear and $70 for 4 wheel alignment. I also had them mount and balance the tires and new wheels ...another $60 ...all said and done it was $447. I am very pleased with the work and price.
And the shocks and springs come as one unit (pressed on by acura/honda)
It looks sweet and the improved performance/handling is very noticeable. I put on the PZeros 245/40/18 on the A-Spec wheels along with the suspension. I had the lip spoiler and do not care for the body kit … the steering wheel is nice, but I like the standard one also …it is not worth the extra $350.
Have fun with yours!!! I will post pics this weekend before and after. ;-)

The only reason i go to the dealer so that I'd still keep my warranty. This dealer, Weir Canyon, is right where my office at and they don't do non-acura stuff (I had a comptech sway bar to install but since it is easy I plan to do it myself in the beginning, will only go to dealer if the price diff after suspension installation is < $50).

I've been quoted numbers from $1100 to $1470. Ridiculous, to be honest. I think they have no idea how little work it really is.
If anyone needs to buy the suspension kit, please let me know - I negotiated a decent price with Falconi.

I wouldn't go to the dealership to get the suspension installed. When I get mine, I'll either install it myself or have a suspension shop do it for me.
Spark Racing in La Puente has done suspension install on my friends' and my cars (Civics, Accords, TLs, and Miata). They do it correctly, no missing nuts or washers and things like that. Their cost is very reasonable but they don't do alignment. Talk to Joey Lam, the owner.
Their website is sparkracing.com. BTW, I receive no compensation or kickback whatsoever by recommending this shop nor do I own or partially own this shop. I have been satisfied with their work and that's it. I imagine the install cost shouldn't be more than $100-150.
For alignment, Sears or other chain shop can do alignment with the same or better accuracy as the dealer.
BTW, the dealerships cannot void your warranty just because your suspension is installed by a non-dealership. Before they can void anything, they have to prove that the install is done incorrectly and caused the damage.
