Lowering my TLS

I love the way my wife's 2003 BMW 325cic sits. It's low and mean looking and handles likes it's on rails. That being said the car is a pain in the ass $ to maintain. She loves the car and doesn't want to buy another. I want to lower my 08 TLs so it looks aggressive, just enough to look and handle great. I don't want it slammed or looking like a low-rider. What kind of springs, etc. do you guys recommend? What are the draw backs of lowering the car? I really don't want more of a rough ride, the car drives rough enough with the current suspension.
Lastly, I live on the north shore of the Boston area, any suggestions on who would do this work? No, I don't wish to attempt it myself, too old! Thanks for any help.

h&r sports springs or tein s-techs sound like suitable options for you.

otherwise, you can go with coilovers and have full height control and damper adjustments...more expensive tho.

Go with the ASPEC kit. You get all OEM equipment (pre-assembled springs + struts), it lowers the car about 1" after it settles (3/4" right off the bat"), and feels better than any aftermarket springs you can buy. CurryAcura is selling complete kits, shipped, for only $615 on eBay right now. I did this to my 3.2 '08 TL and couldn't be happier. Install should only run you about $150 including alignment, no camber kit needed as long as the tech knows what he is doing.

Bill, check out their website for both TL and TL-S options:

Where on earth did you get suspension installed with an alignment for only $150?? I think $150 would be a fantastic price without an alignment, which is usually another $75 - $100.

agreed. i paid 120 to get my rear coilovers installed and that was a steal. most shops wanted 300-400 for the front and rear install (called about 5 places) withoutout an alignment. no way i was paying that much, my suggestion is to do the front on your own it's not that bad, but the rears would have been tough to do on my own in my parking space.

and get coilovers (tein sa)....if you get springs you may not like the ride and then you are stuck. with coilovers you can fine tune it to be as soft or firm as you like it

isn't aspec + rear sway bar gonna handle better than any $800 coilover?? opinions please.

i have front a spec, rear type s( from MT) and with the sound deadening (30 lbs i think?) and trailer hitch, it has half inch rake and nobody notices it until i ask them if they think the rake looks weird.

So many options....having the ability to lower it to any height and firmness that I want sounds terrific. Sometimes I like the softer ride, I actually like the feel of the stock base TL suspension. It rides much, much smoother than the Type-s.
