I love my stock rims, they are 2008 stock wheels. I am in need of new tires and am looking at Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec, the stock specs are 235/45/17 but I would like a lower profile tire. Can this be achieved with the same tires but smaller? I am not sure how this works but I want lower profile versions on those tires.... also will stretching smaller tires over the stock rims effect the lifespan of the tires? thanks guys.

you can put a lower profile tire on, however it will affect the speedometer. It will not affect the tire life* that much. However it's going to look pretty weird since the stock rim/tire size fills up the wheel well pretty nicely.


*it depends on what tires you put on, however if you put the Z1 star spec in 235/45/17 or in 235/40/17, the tread life will be close to the same since the smaller diameter one has to rotate more to go 1 mile.
