Looking to replace rotors. Suggestions?

Hey guys i got a 2008 tl type s. so far so good but I can't stand the vibration while braking. Specially at high speeds.

Some people have told me to get the rotors machined and some people say that these can be machined but its best to replace as machining them will warp again anyway.

Looking for a replacement but not sure exactly where to look. Obviously I want good quality but refuse to pay stealership fees. Don't mind waiting for shipping. Any ideas would be great or if you guys can give your input in machining that would be great too

Are you sure its your rotors? If you're breaking at high speeds and you're getting vibrations you might need to get your wheels balanced. If it is your rotors you can try cutting them and re-using, but if they've already been cut, then you should get new ones. check out https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/adam-here-adams-rotors-873922/ for new rotors

I've had the Brakemotive drilled / slotted rotors for a few months and am very happy with them. They look pretty cool too

How many miles on the rotors? Have you owned since new?
Two schools of thought -
You can definitely get the rotors turned, but at some point they will need to be replaced. The "some point" could be tens of thousands of miles down the road. Honda/Acura rotors are known to warp and some will tell you thinner ones will warp again faster.
Option two is a straight replace, but may be a little more costly. Theoretically you are starting from scratch.
So again some of this may depend on you and your brakes and how many miles you have rolled up on them.
I've actually done both and had success both ways.

If his wheels needed to be balanced than he would feel vibrations at highway speeds regardless of braking or not braking.

The fact that he only feels vibrations while he uses his brakes pretty much throws wheel balance issue out of the equation.

Absolutely loving these

I had Brakemotive once too but I ended up with too many vibrations. Plus I wanted to get rid of the drilled holes. The XLR8 kit I have is slotted only.

hmm ive only had my brakemotives on for less than 5 months, I hate the noise and vibrations during >60 to stop. Might look into those.

Holes look good but go only slotted or blank. Stoptech is a great brand, I'm using their brake pads and I love them.

Another rotors option is adamsrotors they have a thread on here.

When I took my car is for a brake job, they highly recommended not machining the front brembo blanks due to possible warping. It's not that much to replace them

I have StopTech slotted rotors that I'm waiting to install. The stock rotors/pads are still going strong with 60k miles on them. I'll replace the rotors/pads in a few months or whenever I hear the wear indicators.

I wouldn't mess around turning rotors- you're almost guaranteed to warp turned rotors.

I was just looking at replacing the pads from my brakemotive kit. I've had them on for maybe 12-15k miles, and they need to be changed.

I've been having some wild vibrations when stopping at highway speeds, and they have just generally been quite loud all around. I think I'm just going to go with the stoptech slotted only kit with the pads.

I loved the price of the brakemotives.

I have read about some instances of this. Not sure how common it is, but mine are quiet and smooth with the ceramic stoptech pads.

I'd recommend taking a look at our Acurazine XLR8 STOPTECH brake packages.
