Looking for 18x8.5"
Okay guys I'm changing my wheels for this year. I've been running on 18x8 A-Specs for 3 summers now and I need a change.
I already bought tires last summer... 245/35-18 Falken 452's
So I need some 18x8.5" wheel options... preferrably 1 piece
I originally wanted 18" Axis Hiros... but they discontinued them.
5-zigen ProRacer ZR+520
18x8.5" offset:32
Axis Halo
18x8.5" offset:35 only 19.8 lbs
Axis Super Hiro
18x8.5" offset:35 and 22.4 lbs
Enkei GTC 01 (out of my price range... but so nice!)
18x8.5" offset:35 and 22.7 lbs
Enkei RPO3
18x8.5" offset:35 and only 20.9 lbs
Any help would be appreciated...
I really still want the hyper silver or anthracite 18" Axis Hiro's so if anyone know's where I can get them please let me know!! I don't understand why Axis discontinued them...

I think the 1st 5zigen or the last 2 wheels would look the best since 18's with the lip always look much smaller. And someone already posted pics of those 1st wheels but in 19" and they look sick man. Also where did you buy tires and can you post a straight side shot of your car so I can see the drop with those springs we were talking about?

Have a look at 1010tires.com ... I ordered my Axis Shines there and its Canadian. ( Richmond BC). They seem to carry a good line(s).
I did a lot of research and with the $$ exchange and the shipping to CanaDUH and customs etc they came out cheaper and no duty issues.

is say number 1 and 4 are hott those are the ones you should think about getting... and 18s with a lip do look smaller esp if you do not have a nice drop to go with them...
i have 18x9 axis gravs and they look good but you really need a nice drop with 18s/lip or else they will look small

I'm trying to figure out how heavy those ProRacers are... on the website it says between 26-28 pounds but I'm thinking that's the shipping weight. Because Axis' website says the Hiro's have an actual weight of 22.4lbs but a shipping weight of 26.3lbs.
Here's the links: AXIS 5ZIGEN
Anyone else agree with me?

Maybe stillhere153 could help me out with this...
Would the 18x8.5" Super Hiro's rub if I'm lowered on H&R sports with 245/40-18 tires?

I think I've decided on the Axis Halo's... black with a red time attack stripe. Then maybe next summer I'll have them powder coated hyper silver or gunmetal.

When I did the comparison on the Shines I just ordered it was cheaper to buy them up here.

Did you find a good vendor in Canada for them? If you bring them out of the US make sure you compare costs including exchange .. duty .. brokerage shipping .. and the taxes go on top of all that ..

There's another local Calgary company called Contemporary Motorsports, shopcms.com who also sell Axis.

Never heard of kxwheels, I'll check it out.
Any other online wheel retailers I should be looking at? 101tires is sweet because shipping is so cheap, they're only in Richmond, BC.

kxwheels is also in BC. I don't know about the service and their site looks pretty ghetto tho but the prices are ok I think. Axis penta on 1010tires 395.99$ and on kxwheels 340$. I thats alot of a difference I think. Now it all depends on the service. Same price difference with the Shines as well ( I am talking about 19x8.5 sizes and 35mm offsets here). Its worth checking out

I'm really leaning towards the Enkei GTC01, these pics sold me.
Just trying to decide if I should go with
18 x 8.5" with an offset of 35
OR
18 x 9" with an offset of 40
My tires are 245/40-18... which one would be better for going with 255/40-18 all around in the future??
See my sig for my suspension. THX!

I'm not a big fan of wheels that have spokes that are flush or close to flush with the rim.. but it might be ok .. to me those are more suited to the ricer type application.
