Exclamation Lookin to buy new tires - GOODYEAR

Ok, so I live in a town where we have a goodyear plant...every year they have a tent sale where you can get phenomonal deals if you work there...i dont work there...however...i have friends who do! I stand to get an awesome deal! I will get the goodyear card which knocks off a percentage...4 mail in rebates(1 per tire-$20 mail in rebate) + i get to take advantage of any specials the store is currently having (currently $50 mail in rebate from what i see)

I need to purchase me some tires before the 31st of October...I cant make a decision on any tires that they offer since all the reviews I've come across say they have low tread life or are noisy as hell! The more reviews I read the more I feel like im going to have to pass up this deal....

Would you guys recommend anything specific that they offer for my 3g 05 6MT? Stock rims so im lookin for
235-45R17

I dont race I just drive my car alot becuase I do real estate...I need something that will last a while and wont sound like im driving an off road truck...

The only tires I see avail for my car are:
Eagle A1 Asymmetric
Eagle F1 All season
Eagle Responsedge
Eagle GT

Thanks for the help....

The Eagle F1's are crazy noisy. Do some research on this site and you'll soon find out for yourself.

after reading reviews and going up to the good year store i think i have decided to try the DUNLOP SP Sport signatures...almost ALL the reviews ive reaad had positives to say about the tire...i think i found one bad review...didnt find any reviews in particular to a 3g 6mt yet but i will surely be the first to post mine. =]

for what it's worth, I have the Eagle GTs on my 03 TypeS and I like them so far... 2500 miles. They grip amazingly well and do awesome in the rain and slippery leaves that are all over the streets right now.

Buda, another KC AZer, uses the Eagle GTs for his winter tires here and really enjoys them.

I have had the new GT's for year and they have been fine, including with the snow we get here in Chicago. I'm not holding on for dear life as I was with the EL-42's!!

Just my 2 cents: I had bad problems with road noise from both the OEM Bridgstone Turanzas and Cooper Xeon Sport A/S on my '05 TL 5AT - sounded like the off road truck tire the OP references. I was horrible!

It wasn't until I went with a more expensive Michelin Exalto (premium touring tire) that I got rid of the noise. The tire handles differently, but rides and sounds much better. I have seen a lot of complaints with road noise on this car and it seems the only way to get it under control is to use a good touring tire.

The Pilot Sport A/S plus is even more comfortable and quiet imho, I put 50k on a set of Pilot Exaltos. I am beyond happy with my new Pilot Sports.

Eagle GT - so far they seem to be a good all around tire.
