Lightest wheels

I'm looking for the lightest 17" wheel for an 04 6 spd. TL. I'm looking at the Volk Racing GT-7 @ 18 lbs. Anything lighter?

The 5zigen's FN01R is a light-weight forged racing wheel. The 17x7.5 is only 6.6 kg or 14.52 lbs. Thin spoke wheels tend to be lighter than others falling within the same manufacturing technology.

Be weary of pot holes.....light weight rims tend to bend like warm butter.

FidizzyTypeS is correct. Racing wheels are very light but they are designed for racing on smooth race tracks, not pot-holes-ridden roads.

Yeah, that may be sacrificing too much integrity for weight. My 16" SSRs weighed about that much. I think the lightest I'm willing to go would be about 16.5 lbs.

check out the OZ superleggeras. with 17's i doubt you have to worry about pot holes unless you get low profile tires... which hopefully you arent because then your speedometer would be way off.

Tlover-
I'm in the same boat as you are. So far I know that I want forged wheels. The companies that I have found to have anything decent are: Centerline, SSR, BBS, iForged, R-1, and HRE. There are plenty of other companies that have forged wheels, but these seem to offer the highest quality.
If you find any 18x8.5's or 19x8's that are comparable to the weight of the stock wheels, then please post your findings.

Stickin' with 17" to keep the weight down and to feel comfortable that I won't bend a rim with the thicker tire sidewall.

I've got HRE's in 19's and they are forged, 3-piece therefore strong and light. In 17", they are probably in the weight class you are looking for.
