Life sux... F'ed up big time
Ever since the new wheels got put on, I started rubbing all four corners. Been researching and running around to fix the rubbing issue and decided to roll the fenders. But guess what.. Wheels and tires are sticking out more than rolled fenders can handle...
Problem is I'll be driving to coast tomorrow and will have big problem with rubbing the fenders. Only if I had more time to fix this problem than I could have made wiser decision than what I did today...
From this....
To this....
Momo FXL-1 Chrome - 18x8 +40offset
Now my 5zigens needs to go... Not even two weeks old

YOu shouldn't be rubbing at all with a 18x8 40mm offset. I thought you were running below 30mm. You should have plenty off room. The only thing I can think of the reason for your rubbing is your tire size. I think you need lower profile tires.
What is your tire specs?

lower profile tires will fix it but its easier to sell the rims than used tires. also this problem needed to be fixed by today unless i might have f'ed up fender after coming home

tire shop had cheaper wheels that i actually liked (5spoke black with stainless lip) but it'll not clear the calipers.

Dude dont sell em. Not after waiting this long for them.
I know youre on lowering springs...but maybe now is the time for some Coils?
Good luck in whatever you chose to do, unless its selling them...no selling the zigens.

Is it a rub issue in the rear- that can be fixed by cutting the tab back where the rear bumper joins the fender
and it usually catches up near the top center edge of tjhe fender roll
- you can cut that edge back- or for now, put some blue tape on the fender edge- wrapped around it, then with duct tape on top of that to protect the tire from the metal fender edge.
the blue painters tape wont hurt car paint and will peel off later

its the passenger front thats rubbing the most
now with the momos they tuck in the fenders and have no problem with rubbing with same tires.
i ordered 5zigens with +37 offsets but i think they are lower than it was stated on the box or the wheel. momos are +40mm and it barealy clears the calipers vs. 5zigens are +37mm and it gives more than two finger gap between the wheel and the calipers.

It should give you the offset number on the back of the rim on one of the spokes, check it to see if it's really 37, i have those rims in 42 offset and i have plenty of room and i can slam it and still have no problems, mine are 17 though. 17x8

yea.. and it pisses me off that they bang with the fenders. it pisses me off more that those momos look uglier and uglier i look at them. had no choice.....
i'm thinking how much i can shave off the offset. you know any shobs in town that shaves off the wheel hub for higher offset?

i swear to go all you need is a damn alignment... how can you be rubbing when there are members rolling on HARDER offsets than those... like me...
put the koni fronts on the high perch and stiff damper setting and get the alignment so that you have slight negative camber... YOU WONT RUB GUARANTEED

they were already negative. you gotta come and see it. i think these 5zigens are lower offset than +37. spent hours at the shop trying to fix the problem but they are sticking out to the point negative camber + fender rolling wouldn't fix the rubbing.

you can see my clearance right here in this pic
it only rubs when my tire is turned and the shock compresses down going up driveways. rubs fender right where it meets the bumper area if i wasent tucking tire there would be no issue
though im going to get a camber kit soon and put likw 2.5 degree's of camber so it wont be an issue and go a little lower LOL

i don't know why i'm the only one that rubs on this setup.. from the picture your wheel tucks in nicely. i think offset of the wheel is the problem. is there any way to measure the offset to see if they are +37?? 5zigen might have messed up with the offset.

Ditto on it being the tires. I'm running 8.5x18s with 37 offset and 235/40/18 Goodyear F1 All Seasons. I'm lowered to a 1 finger gap, and the front tires have never rubbed. Guessing your tires have a really wide tread for their size so the sidewalls don't angle in at all. I tried 245/40/18s on mine, and the sidewalls were pretty much vertical.

Why can't folks here understand that the guy had one set of 8.5-inch 18's 5zigens that rubbed but the Momo's he has on now don't rub. He doesn't like the Momo's but the 5zigens offset are causing the run and YES, he already tried to roll the fenders

sorry but I don't understand it... for them to be rubbing or sticking passed the fender he'd have to be at a +30 offset... +37 gives more than ample room... I'd say go to a different alignment shop... just ask rodney about how to fix the rubbing issue...
ps... there are members rolling on 20x9.5 in the 30's on the offset and they aren't rubbing... so I can't say enough about the alignment being done at the wrong shop

yea tires are too wide and offset is too low. i compared the shoulder of Goodyear F1 AS and Michelin Pilot Sport AS and Goodyears have more wider shoulder. but momos i'm currently running is +40 with same tires and they tuck in with more than enough clearance.

its not the alignment issue i think. also i don't wanna change tires like socks with running negative camber that'll clear the fenders.
just got back from two day trip and gonna go back to the shop and ask if i can return the momos and order axis.
axis hiro in 18x8.5 +45mm
axis gravity 18x8 +??
anyone tried the gravity yet??

i've been brainwashing myself past two days to like these chromes and they do look good time to time now..
anyways my 5zigens needs to go. even though there is a way to fit them in, i won't put it back on. when these were first put on, i was little dissapointed with the result and thought i should have bought wider spoked design (something like volk te-37). they'll be listed in blackmarket
