Khumos different directions???
I've just had my khumo ecsta mounted this past friday and have just noticed that the thread directions on one side is opposed to the other side. Is this normal? I purchased on tirerack and that was what they sent me.
I previously had toyo proxes and the thread on both sides pointed in the same direction. Did I get the two of sets of the same side?

which model ecsta did you get??- this is from kumhos website:
The Ecsta AST molds Kumho’s advanced carbon, all-season tread compound into a directional tread design "
That means they have a rotation arrow on them so the installer puts them on the rim correctly, they can be flipped to use on either side based on how you put it on the rim
Go immediatly to the shop- point out the 2 tires with the arrow in correct position, and the 2 mounted ~inside out~ on the rim
Easy fix
Check the tires too- many have a referance dot that shows the heavy spot on the tire- it is supposed to go opposite of the valve stem- they help offset each other that way.
ASK- see if they even know

They are mounted right, with the word "outside" pointing outward on all 4 tires... but when you look at the thread direction, it points in different directions on each side. I have the all season ecsta.

which all season exact model -there were a few within the ecsta
have you looked at the website?
If all the tires say OUT and there is no directional arrow- you are good to go
Not all tires are the same design - Falkens may be different so they have no referance value to this thread,
just like brake rotors- some slots point forward- others back
Look at makers website and see whats what
And let us know how they work for you!

Suzuka Master
And if its the Ecsta ASX molds a high technology silica and carbon tread compound into an asymmetric tread ... there is an outside but not directional.
