Just ordered TEIN SA coilovers!

Finally made the move and purchased TEIN SA coilovers for my AM TL. I figured I would lower her first before the wheels to get the measurements right. I'll post pics when I install em next weekend. Not to mention, it is currently snowing here in New England.
I should be satisfied with Tein, right? Pics and specs of your TL with TEIN suspension are welcome !

ps - I am still debating 18" or 19" ...

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please be sure to post pics of your car on these coilovers. I do not think I have seen another member on here with that setup.

My bro and I are debating what wheel specs to get. What do you Azine legends recommend?
I am sold on most likely 18x9.5+22, but not sure about the tires. I know a lot of you guys run 225/40 but with stretched tires. Why go narrower, is my question? I was thinking more of a 245/40 look. Also 10" tires in the rear would look mean, but may require more fender work, huh? What are your thoughts and suggestions?

People go with narrower tires so that they can go lower without rubbing. The stretch gives more clearance around the fender.

you son of a bitch, you're gonna force my hand with those pics to go out and buy my coilovers before I'm good and ready! I'm almost ashamed to mount my forgestars now having only H&R Springs.

OP, decide on a specific wheel that you want first, then figure out the offsets. The specs will vary based on the particular wheel.

I have had my eye on these Varrstoen 2.2.2's Full Polished. This setup is 19x9.5+22:

I would get these in 18's. What do ya' think?

Poor choice. Get those and you'll end up needing new rims soon. Coz I will come and steal them. Just sayin'.

Haha, but good wheel choice for sure. I could see them in my future as well, just not sure what finish I would go with.

I have Tein basics with Varrstoen 2.2.1's in 18x9.5 +22. I'm running a 225/40/18 tire. Coilovers are lowered all the way.

How much of a stretch is that 06? And what fender work did you do?

It's not to crazy of a stretch but it's still a decent amount of stretch on the tires. I don't really know how to measure it haha. For fender work i have them rolled and slightly pulled.

Thanks. I don't even know what pulled means, haha. I have my rears rolled, but that's it for now. I wonder if I could get away with something like your setup if I didn't go as low.

Also, since you own them, maybe you could tell me this: what the hell is the difference between 2.2.1 and 2.2.2?

Pulled means you just pull the fender out a little bit. Since your already rolled you might be able to get away with my wheel/tire setup. And going lower creates more natural camber which will help.

2.2.1 = 18 inch wheels

2.2.2 = 19 inch wheels

Really good, I honestly have no complaints about the Tein Basics. My TL is my daily driver and the ride is really comfortable.

I can't tell if your rims are even available right now. I emailed a-spec wheel, a distribution channel per the varrstoen website, to ask if that size was available in hyper black, but it is not per the website, or anywhere else I could find.

Honestly, 06tl4life, I might get the exact same setup as yours, just finished full polished. Also, I am the one who wants your headlights! lol (I changed my name from Hardbody to Tannon) The only thing I will do differently is swap the orange diffuser with a clear.
