I really don't understand. Dont you have to screw the entire red lower section for it to go up or down?

Yes the entire red section has to move but you can do it without taking the bolt off. It will take some effort tho u will keep having to rotate the red part clockwise n counterclockwise until I get the drop u want. I feel like it's much easier than taking the dam bolt off. If you have an air tool then yes taking the bolt off will make adjusting height easier. I will try to take a video when mp built installs my camber kit. Before that I'm trying to get some opinions if I shud do a 0.25 inch more drop front n back. Look a the pics 2 posts up n lemme know what u think. I want a drop like the type s pic I posted haha

0.2 in the front an 0.25 in the rear? I dont like when the rear is higher than the front. I dont see how it is possible to move the red section if it held in the by the bolt. I think you mean you turn the threaded section.

Yes when u said red I assumed u meant the red threaded portion...the part where the ring tightens onto. Watch the video I posted last page it'll make things clear. It goes loosen ring, adjust threaded part then tighten ring.

But once installed there is a bolt thru the bottom red section. I don't see how that can move with a bolt through it.

BTW I agree with you man, finding the correct drop is such a pain. I'll raise it up then I'm like nah I want it lower then I'm like nah its too low

i had the same questions as you about the bolt. But somehow my installer is able to adjust the height without taking the bolt off so i dunno what to tell u man. Ill pay close attention next time

This is what he just texted me. "Just rotate the shock body, just loosen the bronze colar bolt. as long as theres not too much preload on the spring you wil be fine"

the bottom red section DOESNT turn.... ur turning the treaded part...

1st - loosen locking collar
2nd - turn treaded portion clockwise (DOWN), counterclockwise (UP)
3rd - measure, then re-lock collar

you dont have to touch the red portion at all

and I would say just lower 1/4 - 1/2" in rear only.

I know a 15 mm spacer will be fine for the front but what you guys thinks a 25mm spacer for the back would be fine?

Just a question for anyone: Am I going to have to get the type-2's for the dampening adjustment if I'm going to run bigger and wider wheels?

It's a personal preference, but you're kind of throwing a blanket statement out there. The tire brand, type, and size will dictate comfort, but in large part the coilovers will make up the glut of the roadfeel.

I went with the Type IIs to be safe.

Thank you both DM and mrlal for the feedback. I'm still debating on type 1's or type 2's. Won't be changing wheels for at least 2 years or so. I'm thinking of going 18x9 with Toyo Proxes.

car looks good man..

Did you install just the coil overs...or did you replace or upgrade any other suspension points like bushings or top hats??

If you did or anybody wants to recomend ordering other parts that should be installed when doing coil overs, let me know! Please!! I NEED to install them soon!

i installed just the coilovers and a camber kit. when replacing the camber kit, my stock ones were rusted in the middle and seized so had to get it sawed off

These come with top hats built in. Apart from the coilover, the only other thing you'll need to install is the camber kit if you have it.

Thanks to the input on this thread, as well as input from Marcus, I ordered my Type 1's last night! Cant wait to get them.

Your car looks so sick so low mrlal8, I wonder if spacing your rims would make them look less....squished?

so i went to the firestone next to rutgers....

the dude didnt even know how to adjust the camber kit. He said everytime he adjusted the camber kit the TOE kept getting changed and not the camber...

This guys is a rookie tech or something...they told me to come in tomorrow for their master technician

i thought adjusting a camber kit was simple?

im hoping it was just cuz the guy is new. I am pretty sure my firestone back at home can easily set the camber to zero. I will try again here when their master tech is in.

I have 0 toe right now and 2.5 camber I have way too many exams this week so ill probably get this sorted out in a week. I havent noticed any abnormal tire wear surprisingly....
