Is it just me...........

....Or does the AT Italia S5's look better with the body kit

As opposed to without the bodykit?

Anyone know the weight of the S5's too? I wanted to get them but after hearing about the cracked rim by Carfreak i'm a bit skeptical, as my car loves potholes....

In addition, I also started considering Centerline wheels. They have been around for some time now, they are very good wheels, too. I noticed that they started making wheels for front wheel drive cars now, this one caught my attention:

I would consider getting them in Black Pearl(Gunmetal)

Or Silver

"Incredibly strong, light
weight, rotary forged, split
spun, one piece wheels for
front wheel drive applications.
Billet center cap included. "
17x7.5 wheels weigh 13.5 lbs!
I'm going to look into the offset to see if it would fit on my car..

The bodykit really makes the car and the rims stand out.

I got an Black car, so I would go with the CenterLine Gunmetal one....

but that's just me...

I think the S5 is too close to the stock TL-S/CL-S rims... so, it's a no...

If you wanna stick with 5 spokes, then something like the C5 (simply, sporty), RH 035, or the SSR GT3... JMHO

Those wheels definitely look better with the kit, and Ed, as far as the Centerline's go, I like the design ok, but NOT in gunmetal or black!!!! To me, when the wheel is spinning, it looks like your riding on some steelies or something!! But, if you like them, then by all means....

I think the gunmetal would look good. Congrats on selling your cl-s wheels for $$$$'s. Post pics when you get your new wheels!

I was browsing Centerlines' web site and couldn't find any description of what "Rotary Forged" means. I'm guessing.....hmmmmmm, maybe the outer rim is forged? Or is it some new process of forging? Got me, anybody have a clue?

Ed, get some SSR GT1's or GT3's You worried about weak rims due to our very well looked after roads . (HUGE sarcasm)

Look into some strong wheels. I personnaly believe it's worth it in the long run although they cost a bit much at first.

I heard SSR's are pretty soft in terms of strength. Centerline has been around for some time now, they are known for making muscle car wheels and vintage wheels, etc... I don't know how strong it is, but they claim it's one of the lightest and strongest around...13.5 lbs for a 17x7 wheel!

I know all about Centerlines Ed, I've been into all types of cars. I have a Mustang too.

BTW, are you talking about the other SSR wheels? The glitzy glamorous bling bling wheels? I'm talking about SSR's GT1 and GT3's. Those and the Competitons are Semi-Solid Forged but SSR's other wheels are not. There is a difference, the others are just cast.

I'm not knocking Centerlines at all but FYI, the SSR Competitons 17x7.5 are 12.7lbs and their 17x8 are 13.1lbs.

I'd ask Centerline what this Rotary forged business is.

Just my opinion Ed, but I prefer the car without the kit. I know I'm WAY out numbered on this board when it comes to that preference; but I think the TL is a luxury car. Thus, I prefer the luxury look for it. I think the kit provides a sport look, which, of course, it is meant to do. The kit matches if you are looking for a sport look; but if you are looking for the luxury look, as I am, I say leave the kit off.

Bad news, guys.... I just got off the phone with Centerline. The 17x7 and 18x7.5 wheels come only with a 40mm offset, WAY too low for me to even thing about putting them on my car... Oh well, I guess I'll have to stick with the S5's or perhaps another wheel...
