Just Installed Blizzak's
I bought a set of Blizzak WS-50's with 17" TRMotorsport R5's from Tirerack. I had great difficulty in deciding if I wanted a sporty winter tire like the Aplines or if I wanted a hardcore winter tire like the WS-50s. After slipping around on my stock Michelins after a storm last week, my mind was made up, and I settled on the hardcore winter tires, knowing that I would be giving up some performance (heck they’re only rated to 99 mph).
I haven’t driven them in the snow yet, but they are definitely more numb than the Michelins (if that’s possible). Surprisingly, they seem to ride better and are noticeably quieter.
I plan on using these from November to March and then buying ultra-high performance all-season tires in the spring.
I’ll post more after I try them in the snow. I live in SW Michigan, and we get tons of snow, so it should be any day now.

Well I finally got a chance to drive these in the snow and I am amazed at how much traction they provide. In fact, the downside is that I always liked locking up my rear tires with my emergency brake when I am turning into my drive way and letting the rear-end swing around. Even on snow, I can't do this very well anymore. The tire are just too sticky. Its a problem I will be happy to live with.

I am in the same boat. Deciding between the Mich. PA2 and Blizzak Pirelli 210.
Looks like the PA2 is better on the dry/wet road (90% of my driving) and is much quieter. So that is what I am leaning towards. But the Blizzak seems better in the real snow.
The other possiblity is the pirellel 210. Cheaper than the PA2 for similar performance.
Decisions, decisions, decisions
BTW, I bought a set of Acura TL rims on EBAY for winter duty.

140 mph
Not exacly sure what the speed ratings are on those tires you guy are testing out.... but if you are doing 140 on a winter tread tire you are probably exceeding the speed rating of the tire
