Just bought wheels...now questions!

Hello all, I just finally settled on a set of wheels. I picked up a set of Stern ST-1 in 19x8.5, 45 offset in hyper black.

Now for some questions.

1. Tires - The norm everyone runs is 235/35/19. I was wondering if I can run something a little more aggressive? Like a 245 or even a 255? It would be like a 255/30/19. Would this rub? I'm dropped on the a-spec suspension (1" front, .75" rear). Is this just too wide? I was thinking about the protection aspect of the lips, plus it will look beefier.

2. Hub rings - Just wanted to confirm that it's 73.1mm outside and 64.1 inside diameters.

3. Lug nuts - Size? I'm guessing 12x1.5mm. Any recomendations on type? I don't feel like droppin big bucks on Rays nuts (sound's gay talking about Ray and his nuts).

Thanks in advance for any help!

Get a set of 245/35-19 Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 with a 9.4" tread width at 25.8" tall. Any type of lug nuts/locks that you desire M12x1.5. Some wheels have lug nuts included, and also the rings. Whatever the site indicates for the bore size of the Stern's to 64.1.

1.255/35/19 should be fine I would think, the wheels aren't that aggressive so that will give you more room for tire.
2.Yeah, it's either 64.1 or 64.3
3.Hahaha Ray's nuts..but yeah Muteki makes some solid lug nuts

I went with 245/35/19s on mine.

I got tuner lug nuts from modify_madness on Ebay. $27 shipped for the set. You'll need 12mmx1.5mm pitch tapered/conical seat.

Got to agree, that with a 8.5” rim, which I carelessly overlooked, and 45 offset which will split the ½” inside and out, 255’s will be no problem, but will be slightly over 26” tall.

I'm running the same wheels with 245s...they work well in my opinion. I have 38 offset vs. the 45 you have.

I wish I had the 38 offset, but I bought them second hand brand new, so I had no choice. I was thinking of maybe tossing some 5mm spacers in there to push them out a little bit. Still on the fence.

I've decided on the 245/35/19 Nitto NT 555's. Now I just need some hub rings and TPMS sensors and I'll be ready to get them all mounted up!

245/35-19 is the way to go. Heres for hub rings: http://www.1010tires.com/hubrings.asp

Get the 64.15 inner diameter ones and appropriate outer diameter and things should be cool.

Ok, got the lugs, TPMS, hub rings...now I just need tires... I thought I was getting the NT 555, but I'm on the fence again...grrrr

Now I'm thinkging of ditching the hub rings and getting spacers with the rings built in...how much should I push itout though? 10mm?

They are pretty nice wheels for $150 a piece. Did you get them on Ebay?

What are u waiting for.. take the car off the jack.. LoL.

And also I would do a 10mm spacer not a 5mm.. but then you wont be able to run 255mm tires...I guess. Keep in mind the more width you go with the tires. your rims will appear smaller. I suggest 245mm is enough for good balance of rim protection, ride comfort and looks. I have 245mm right now and I wish I went 235's. The rubber overhang makes the wheel appear smaller.

Yeah, I'm really thinking 10mm. I'm gonna put them on first and ride around and see how it looks, then maybe go with the spacers.

Does anyone know if these would clear a Willwood BBK? I'm thinking that might be my next purchase. Also, in the winter when I put the stockies back on, will that clear the BBK? I'm guessing if I have a 10mm spacer, then it will help clear even more.

got the SAME EXACT wheels two weeks ago...

Very nice!

I got the SAME wheels (Hyperblack, ST-1's) about two weeks ago, and I am trying to put it all together...

I found Cooper Zeon 2XS tires for $102 delivered. I think that's what I will go with, in a 245/35/19.

Where did you get your hub rings?

and where did you pick up your TPMS?

I would love to see pics of your car when it's done.

I have an anthracite manual 06 (my offset is 38 mm on my Stern's), but no aspec body kit yet. Your car looks like it will be just what I want to make mine like eventually.

Can't wait to see the pics when you're rolling.

So far, I have the Eibach Pro-kit and Tokico Blues installed. Putting in Moog Endlinks next week, and hopefully rolling on the rims in two more weeks. We'll see...

I got the hub rings on e-bay for like $10. I just got 73mm outter diameter and 64.1mm inner diameter. You might be able to get them locally at a wheel shop. That's a pretty common size combination. I think I'll be getting spacers custom made though that have the 73/64.1 rings built in.

I picked up the TPMS from iPhrase. He was selling a used set. You can order them from acuraoemparts.com. That's where I was going to get them from originally.

I'll put up pics on Friday once everything is installed. I feel like I"m going to have to drop my car a bit more. I had budgeted $2250 for wheels and tires and when all is said and done, I'll be spending about $1500, so I'm debating whether to put the saved $$ towards coilover (Tein SS or Megans) or a BBK (Wilwood). If your 38 offset fits the Brembos on your car, then I'm guesing if I toss a 10mm spacer in there, then I'll clear the Wilwoods.

Offset...

Yeah, I think you should be just fine with a 10 mm offset.

I can't wait to see your pics.

One question. For the TPMS, did you just leave it attached to the valve and it fit on the rim with no problem? Or did you have to go the strap route? Basically, how did you fit the TPMS on the rim...

Thanks!!!

I didn't do it yet, but I toyed aruond with it and it should be fine just leaving it attached to the valve. No need to strap it. They are just 1-piece wheels and the sensor fits almost flush against the wheel.

Anyone know what the specs are on our wheel studs so I can purchase longer ones from Summit? I know they're 12mmx1.5, RH. Are they press in or screw in?
