I'm going to borrow a set of my friend's rims for a photo shoot i'm doing.....is there anything i should know? like will the bolt pattern fit, will it damage anything on the car, and how does it effect my daily driving?

YEAH...you should know this.

YEAH...if you are not careful....the car might catch on fire
somehow I get the feeling you don't know JACK about cars...so I suggest you let someone who does install the rims....if they fit.

Bolt pattern must be 5x114.3
Wheel width 7, 7.5, 8?
Offset - really depends on width.
Tire size
Give us the info and we'll help you out. Look on the inside of the rim and it should tell you

There are lot of factors in getting aftermarket rims. Like everyone mentioned, bolt patterns, size, offset are things you need to keep in mind. Also, if you are going to put the rims for a long time, you might need to balance the wheels.
