Install Konis & H&Rs myself or pay for the job?

If I install the Konis and springs myself I will need to buy jacks and a floor jack, so I figure that will run about $130. I'll also learn more about my car, save some money, and keep the tools.

I found a shop that will run about $200 with tax to have them install it. It will only take 2 hours and I won't have to deal with any potential problems that may arise.

How easy is it to install these things? Thanks

TBH its real straight forward. I do all the maintenance on my cars and got all of the tools. But, for that price id consider them to do it lol. Takes the average guy a lot more than 2 hours to do this.

Yea if your really not a DIY type of preson. I would say let the shop handle it. You dont wanna mess with your suspension.

I would like to do mine, im just worried ill f**k something up. But thats a good price that the shop is giving you.
Good luck i hope all goes well.

Its a pretty lengthy job and for $200 without a doubt have them do it. You have to take apart your entire interior in the back. Seat cushions, rear side panels, rear deck lid, and that's not even getting into the dirty part. The toughest part of all of it will be using those shitty ass rental spring compressors. Since you have never done the job and don't even have the right tools it's definitely a job for the shop.
For someone that has done it before yeah it's not a horrible job, but it's still time consuming. Like justn said, if you've never done it before expect it to take you an entire day or even longer if you get hung up on something.

Thanks everyone. If the shop installs them on the middle perch, but I decide later that I want to drop the front to the bottom perch, is that something that I could easily do at home? The directions provided with the Konis are horrible!

you'll spend as much on the tools as you will for the labor. just let the shop do it

Yeah, I'm still leaning towards having the shop do it. I've had shops email me with prices ranging from the $180 mentioned above, up to $630

Did springs today. Not sure what everyone is talking about. Its super easy. As for the interior, all you have to do is remove the rear seat. Takes all of 10min. Took me about 2hours to do from start to finish. Granted I do use an impact. On another note, I had no issues with the O'reilys spring compressor I rented. It was sturdy and very easy to use.
