HRE 441R or 447R?

Hi all,

I'm in a little bit of dilemma here... I want to put either of this wheel, but can't really make up my mind. I like both equally and need some opinion from board members. I will be putting 19"x8.5" with 245/35/19 tires. Please also recommend an offset, right now I'm thinking of 42.

441R

447R

441R, offset - largest the car can take with the drop...40/42 should be ok...maybe lower, but not sure.

I like the 447R's. THe 42mm offset should work. Aren't the OE wheels 45mm??

Treblig, but I'm using 8.5" wide, instead of 8" (OE)

Nope, not at all. I bought the rims used from a guy in San Diego. I have 235 tires. Offset is 38mm.

Yup lower # = Lip action. Also your Disc set up. High, Low or super low. But that may affect if you have 6mt brake or want to upgrade to a Brake kit later.

Thai.95LCoupe: What's a disc setup? How do I determine that? I see that GoBig has 38mm offset and no rub, but he has 6MT, how'll that affect my 5A/T?

I'm quoted 5400 with 245/35/19 Nitto 555 on either one of this wheel with 19"x8.5", is that a fair price?

Why would you put $5400 wheels on a 30K car? That is one/sixth the price.

I was thinking also about 5Zigen Hyper5ZR and that comes out about 3500 including tires.. and for another 1.7K I get HRE, which should be easier to sell and can be sold at higher price later on. It should also be nicer (3pc vs 2pc).

BTW, last price i talked for the HRE is 5200 OTD (Tax incl). Any opinions on the price of the wheel?

You will never recoup the cost of those wheels if you sell the car. You'll probably loose more money with the more expensive wheels. It's the same with a high end stereo system. Wheels are a very subjective add on and no one will pay big $$$ for wheels they do not like regardless who makes them. I was quoted less than $4K for 19x8.5 441R (color matched centers) with tires from one of those e-bay wheel companies. $5200 is way too much.

My guess would be he means sell them separate of the car down the road. Doing that can let you recoup a good bit of the purchase price. I did that with my last set of rims and I had a net effect of paying $1,000 to have rims and tires for 3 years...less than $1 a day. Put the OEM back on to sell the car (returned the OEM stereo, too). Wasn't able to sell the aftermarket stereo, but I'm sure I'll find a use for it one day...

Front - 19x8.5" offset:38 Falken Azenis ST-115 245/35/19
Rear - 19x9.5" offset: 38 Falken Azenis ST-115 275/30/19

I just put 275.30/19 on the back with a 45 offset and don't have a problem rubbing.
