how to take off wheel locks?

well my wheel key broke, and i had a flat tire just 2 days ago, so i couldnt put my spare on, and i had to pay for towing........ and also had to pay for taking off one wheel lock + change of tires......... i know you can go to the dealership and buy a new key, but they want to charge me 60+, i rather get rid of them

I had a mechanic friend take them off for me. He basically just took a larger sized socket and hammered it onto the lock, then took them off. Then he clamped the socket down and hammered the wheel lock out.

That should be a lesson for everyone with wheel locks to order a spare key from the company that makes them, McGuard in Buffalo, NY. Only 10 bucks! A lot cheaper than what the OP here went through.

you can find a universal key sometimes that will fit for the wheels locks, but u would have to go to a tire place for that
