Just loosen 5 turns or so. Don't remove them.

Be careful not to loose your ratchet extention in there either - don't ask me how I know this .

I cant even get my finger tips in behind the seat back to remove the two upper bolts behind the headrests...
I don't understand how you guys can get anything in there let alone a RATCHET? I already put two little cuts in behind there on the leather trying to squeeze a wrench in.
Help!

Busted by the 5 Min Edit Limit :tomato:

The Seat Back Bolt actually hangs on a bracket that looks something like this:

Size: 1.7 KB

That's why you loosen the bolt and then lift and pull the seat over the bolt.

Hope that helps.

But even to loosen them, I cant get anything in there...

are the bolts facing forward? if so there's no way to get a ratchet on there from the top... any way to go from the bottom?

Is it a hex bolt? Or can it be removed with a screwdriver?

Rear seat

Yes, it's just one bolt and 2 clips. When I had trouble with that bolt, I wedged a flashlight between the seat back and the cushion. This made it easier to see the hole for the bolt because it took the pressure off my hands and it illuminated the area.

The other problem I had was the hoop on the back of the seat, that the bolt goes through was kind of far from the threaded hole for the bolt. So the threads of the bolt were not making contact with the hole. I kept ratcheting and ratcheting but it never bit. So I managed to wedge one hand in there to press the hoop firmly against the floor and used the other hand to turn the socket wrench. Also, using a 12" extension on the socket wrench gave me more leverage when I pushed on the bolt.

It was frustrating as hell but I refused to give up. Hang in there

a small trick to make sure that all the holes/slots/bolts line up. the seat back is secured in place by 2 bolts on top and three bolts on the bottom. but, the seat bottom also has a bolt that passes through a slotted bracket in the seat back. so take the bolt that is used to secure the seat bottom and temporarily insert it into the hole where it will eventually end up. then tighten up all the bolts securing the seat back. once the seat back is secured, remove the bolt for the seat bottom and install the seat bottom. all the slots should line up a little better.

didn't remove lower seat cushion. Just seat backs and then put a towel over the seat cushion. Didn't affect the spring rear job at all

So if I go to a garage to get a set of coilovers installed, they will have no choice but to remove my backseats?

Also if anyone has problems taking out the bottom cushions, make sure to push down on the seat and not lift up. Pull the lever and pull the seat outwards.

Try pushing down on the front of the bottom seat cushion and then squeeze the tab and lift up. Just remember to push down firmly first.

sit on the seat and reach between your legs to pull the tab out, towards the front of the car. sometimes those tabs get stuck and are hard to pull but they will pop out. when they pop out, they only come out about a 1/2 inch or so.

lol. You condescending douchebag, thoiboi. I have googled it. it either pops up info on how to do it on a 8th generation honda accord, or a tsx. There is no instructional video or pics out there. There is no solid DIY tutorial.

If you see my original post, I needed help taking the rear deck out. Every video shows the process of removing back seats. Not rear deck. But no worries, got it figured out now. Thanks.
