i personally think its probably the best 110 bucks ive spent on my car. I think its a no braiiner for about 125 bucks, installation is simple and its a great improvement over stock, especially if ur a 5at. The stock auto sway is i believe 17mm and the ct is i believe 22mm. Top it off with a a spec suspension or tein suspension and ur golden. my

it is the best $110 mod that is well worth it. I have the same setup Tein SS with the Comptech RSB, it tighten up the rear suspension tremendously.

I have the a-spec suspension and in combination with the RSB, the TL's handling changes like night and day. As others have said, best $110 spent on the TL.

BTW, look into getting a set of energy suspension urethane bushings when installing the bar. they only cost $15 and they are much higher quality than comptech's and will last much longer.

yes, it is universal. The MT has a 19mm stock bar while the AT has a 17mm bar. The comptech upgrades to either a 21 or 22mm which is EXTREMELY dramatic on the 5AT.

The A-Spec is incomplete without the Comptech RSB. I had no idea what I was missing until I installed it. I never got to do the bushing mod, however, before I bought my RL.

Here's the thread referencing it.

Further, Comptech has updated the bushings it sends with its RSB kits and we haven't heard as many complaints since.

I think the thread referencing the bushings is in the Performance section. I'll try to find it and edit this post later.

^ - It is really easy. Hardest thing is just getting enough room underneath the rear of the car. On a lift it took me 15 min (granted I knew exactly what I was doing and was drinking a cold beer....its not hard though, and there are some great DIY's on the site.)

Question Comptech Sway install question

Have an new 06 TL .......Does the exaust have to be disconnnected to install? At first look......... it looks tight up there. Going to do the install in the next few days just wondering what I'm in for. I know someone else posted it would only take about 1/2 hour, but I beleive comptech instructions call for disconnecting the Rear pipes.

By the way I'm new here(hello all), But I'm on my Second TL. Had a leased 03 S-type and now have a 06 TL ......Vast improvement over the 03.

I just got my TL and I want to put in the sway bar, but I was wondering...should I wait until after the winter to get the CT RSB, or will it help to have it for winter driving? Or does it not make any difference at all when I get it put on?

No you dont have to disconnect anything. If you can manage to get the cars rear end up, you can wriggle the old RSB out....just like a chain link puzzle. Welcome to the board

What does current weather have to do with it?

Not only is this the best bang for the buck on this car, but if you have a 5AT, you'll be wishing you did it sooner. Why wait?

Tires are more related to the weather. However insofar as the rsb will encourage you to take turns faster, you could say it might adversely affect you in inclement weather

You can do it yourself, no need to remove muffler.

At what setting does everyone have their Comptech sway bar set at. You know how there are 3 settings? Mild, medium, and aggressive.. Did anyone have the back side sliding out when turning too fast with the aggressive setting??

what settings? I thought this was a bolt-on that had a 22mm bar so that it would reduce body-roll compared the 17mm stock one.

Please explain how you got three settings from sway bar. It's a bolt-on and bolt-in part that is fixed based on it's design (diameter, steel strength, arm length, and hollow vs. solid). Do you add some additional parts like adjustable endlinks?
Do you mean suspension (spring/shock) adjustment?

Yes, this is why I decided against getting the swaybar. There was a poster here on this forum approx two months ago that posted a question. His question was "has anyone else tried the Comptech RSB in autocrossing?" While autocrossing, he had severe understeer with the oem RSB (duh). So, he installed the Comptech RSB and then experienced severve OVERSTEER the next time he went to the autocross.

So, I made a mental note to not get a RSB.

When I was young and crazy, I had a new 1985 IROC-Z. I installed polyurethane bushings to the RSB which greatly tightened the rearend bias. So, I was switching lanes VERY AGGRESSIVILY (showing off)...did I mention this was when I was young and crazy many decades ago???...and the car's rearend came loss at 80 MPH on the freeway. I was forced to utilize both lands of the two-lane freeway (both lanes heading in same direction) to regain contro of the car. After regaining control from the fish-tailing (oversteer induced), I looked in my rearview mirror. The freeway traffic was way, way behind me because everyone around me came to a stop, waiting for me to crash as I fought that 80 MPH fishtailing

LESSON LEARNED -- I rather have understeer instead of oversteer !!!!!

ok, apologies to everyone. There is no adjustment for this bar. I was thinking of the bar for my Integra. Sorry for any confusion.

An 80's high-powered RWD V8 taking a sharp turn and losing control at highway speeds?!

Say it isn't so!
