depending on how low you go, pretty sure you have to roll the rears.

i lowered mine for looks...form>function

install coilovers now, and make final adjustments after wheels are installed

I don't live in NYC, but you won't have to roll your fenders if you have a higher offset based on the width of those rims and if you run a smaller width tire. If you're scared of road conditions I think you would be comfortable with a 1.5 inch drop.

with those wheel specs your going to have to roll rear fenders i believe because of the offset of the wheels......im slightly tucking all over and is my daily driver.....but my teins drive extremely smooth.............adjust you dampening to your liking, just avoid pot holes when u see them, under really bad street i drive slow, to keep my suspension running well, i dont just run thru bad streets and eat all pot holes,

you have coilovers, put them to work!.. -2.0 and lower!

^start about halfway with the dampening and adjust to your likening from there. i started really soft then stiffened up to my likening. took several weeks to find where i was happy. i dont know where my settings are now because i would adjust a few clicks then drive for a while (days) and adjust a few more clicks if needed. im guessing im around 20 front 15ish rear towards the stiff setting.

I have tein street advanced so our dampening is different ...

Do you like a smooth or stiff ride?

I read what the manual says I should put it on which was 8/16 in front and back,I made it softer as I want a smooth ride all the time and did 11/16 in front 10/16 in rear...easy way adjust is set them at full stiff and start clicking to soft

Try like 25 clicks from stiff in front 20 in the back..I wouldn't know as I've never set Megan

so i dropped it 2.3 in front 2.0 in rear but while i was driving off the little bumps i would hit would scrape the bottom so i brought it up to 2.0 in front and 1.7 in rear... at about level 20 on the dampening system all around...hope somehow this helps anybody in the same situation ...thanks for ur input guys

Don't forget that increasing your damping will also decrease your suspension travel and decrease your chances of rubbing if you decided to not roll your fenders. But I would go ahead and roll them because you're going to eventually anyway

Join the "Official Acurazine Tri-State Chat" group on Facebook. A lot of people there live in the city and drive slammed TL's. Common sense rules in this situation. You probably take the same roads to work/school every day, so you should know where all the trouble spots are at. The lower you go, the more cautious you have to be (common sense). Don't drive like a maniac in the city if you're slammed (common sense). Someone in the chat group was just talking about a big speed bump he hit at like 70mph, which obviously messed up a bunch of stuff under his TL. Again, use common sense and you'll be fine.

1-finger gap, destroyed $700 worth of tires in under a year (welcome to the lowered life ), went to A-Spec, and will NEVER "slam" again

As do I...but I love the look of $700 in my bank account that DOESN'T have to be paid out on an annual basis.

Go for it, just wanted to let you know in advance, though, you WILL eat tires.

No, just many more miles than you. I rack close to 20k per year.

guys i know all u care about is slamming and looks and all. but have some common sense b4 u install make sure everything is set equally.it would be tragically ironic if you got into a car accident right after ur install on ur way to get an alignment.

The other key factor is making sure you have front/rear camber kits and have your alignment checked on a regular basis (at least annually, especially if you keep changing the ride height).

YES.

< 1.5" Rear
> 1.5" Both

This will only minimize accelerated wear.

I just purchased an 08 TL and looking to lower as well. Not sure I can afford coilovers right away so I will need to make this spring drop count. I think I will be using 18-19" rims tops where 1.5" drop will be more than sufficient for my daily needs since this is my daily driver.

Might as well whore mine:

-ISN N1 coilovers
-fender-to-ground distance = 23" (~2.5" total drop I'm guessing)
-Skunk2 front camber kit
-Ingalls rear camber kit

No significant uneven tire wear thus far.

I think what is most important is to provide people with not only your wheel size, but your offset and tire size that you will be putting on it. I am no expert on 3g tl fitment, but thats a very good starting point in regards to how much fender work you will need and how much clearance you can get so you can lower more. Personally, you will truly find out what you can work with once you mount them on, then its just a trial and error sort of thing with adjusting your coils and alignment (and possibly fenders)
