Anyone have these springs? I planning on pairing them with either konis or tokico blues. I'd like feedback on the drop, ride, and handling improvement Thanks

I have them with oem shocks and I can't complain. Ride is firm but not stiff, you can barely tell that you have different springs. I bought the sport springs because I wanted a drop that is moderate, up here in Canada, winter is a b.

 

Did you have to do any camber kits or have any problems with your alignment? I'm seriously thinking about doing this, but not sure if I really want to put any extra load on the stock struts. Good idea to add?

 

This might the way for me to go too (just Sports Springs). I like the Type S OEM stiffness/ride. I just want to drop my Type S about an inch or an inch and a quarter. So, to get the drop and keep the OEM ride, this might be a good alternative for me.

No camber kit, and the camber is a bit more negative than spec. You really have to watch your alignment, but I do see some "extra" wear on the inside rear edges.

Haven't noticed any negative effects on the stock shocks.





Don't care if I do though. If the go bad, it's just an excuse to get a set of Koni's.

Me: Shocks are blown, gotta get a set of new ones.

Her: How much is that?

Me: About $650.

Her:

Her: It was only $350 for the other TL.

Me:

Me: You can't put those shocks on this car; it needs sport shocks and that means Koni. Best in the business. $650.

You think it will rub with 15mm or 20mm spacers?

How is the install? My brother is a tech at a Honda dealership, but he already told me he wouldnt do it for me....love my family.

 

I know-you guys won't believe it, but I just placed my order for H&R Sport Springs!

I went H&R because they lower the car 1.4 inches. The Eibach only lowers the car one inch.

So this is my first performance mod-even though it's really more for looks.....

 

 

you will be fine with those spacers if you are on stock wheels. It's gonna look really good. As if the TL was suppose to come out of the factory like that.

 

You gotta install them DIY or you got no hair.


I'll bet you could get a DIY party going Saturday afternoon before the big meet and you wouldn't have to lift a finger. A few six packs and some grilled hot dogs is all you'd need. You'll save $200.

Make sure you ordered/get the Type-S specific set (H&R Part# 50106).

I just know they sent mmade22 Accord springs and said they were the same spring (even though they had a different part number) and it never really looked right with just the springs. It did settle and look better, but it still wasn't all the way right, imho.

OTOH - I got the part number for spec'd for the TL-S and it looked good from day 1.

I just don't trust 'em substituting part numbers and saying, "Oh, it's the same spring."

I had them (the type-s) version. They rode no different from the stock springs but gave a moderate lowering. Selling them now since I went with coils, needed moar lowz

 

^the question is....Why are there two versions? one might have a stiffer spring rate, is lower in the front to compensate for the heavy engine? I'll call around and ask.
if the type-s sport springs are better, i'll spring for those on my base model.

 

so whats the deal here? the type s h&r sport springs looks better on our base tl auto? or the other way around?

For what it's worth I bought the H&R sport springs(part# 50104) for my base 08 TL. The drop is perfect. I notice no uneven drop as the gaps are very similar front to back. I'm at work so I can't post pics right now. If you search the thread I started in the photography section there are some pics there. And yes my photo skills are lacking to say the least.

 

What do you guys think by pairing these with a-spec shocks?
I like my a-spec susp. But i think the drop would look so much better with the h&r sport springs. Im just not sure how would they hold up on long term...
Been thinking to do this for a while but not so sure if i should.

 

I think it would be a good setup. Should stay pretty close to what you have now ride-wise, but an extra 1/2" or so drop.

Don't recall that anyone has done this, but it sounds like something worth trying.

 

Why not go with the Tokico Blues ? I was told they can handle a drop like that. I've had them before and the ride is decent. The aspec shocks were made specifically for those springs.

 

well the springs would be only around 235 shipped from tirerack.com... i dont wanna spend much for little of a difference. But i wouldnt mind the difference

 

I paired koni yellows adjustable with HNR springs,,,2" drop in the front and 1.75 in the rear,,,,car looks slammed ) and rides good

you got the H&R Race springs which lower the car a lot more than the sport springs.

 

yeah I wanna drop my ride but not sure if I want the Sport Springs or the Race Springs... Seems like many ppl here favor the Sport... Any particular reason for not wanting to go lower and go for the Race?

if you are going with the H&R race springs might as well get a set of coilovers and drop it as low, because if you think the drop is to much for daily driving then u can raise it back up. The sport springs gives you a moderate drop and thats why the majority roots for those!!

 

Had a question and didnt feel like it was necessary to make a new thread.

But are these H&R Sport springs legit? Got them off ebay from an H&R vendor with a >98% track record. But aren't they supposed to have the "50104" number on the springs it self?

Got them for a 07 TL Base.







I might me overreacting...lol. Just need some assurance.
