H&R COILS
Has anyone tried the H&R coil over setup yet? I know it is priced higher than the Tien SS Setup but I can get a deal on H&R but not tien. The springs/shocks look comparable to the tien's and H&R has been around for a long time.....

I have the H&R Touring setup on my BMW 328i and they handle very well. You don't lose to much of the comfort and it handles on the road. The Tien SS is the same way.....you don't sacrifice to much of the comfort but handles like a Monorail Train, it sticks to the road.

The reason is that the H&R's are significantly higher priced than the Tein SS's and they are only comparable to the Tein Basics. You cannot adjust the dampening on the H&R's. I really wanted to give them a shot but I also wanted the dampening adjustments. I did however order their rear sway bar which is still on back order or in developement or whatever the excuse is this week. I have been waiting on the sway bar since July.
No dampening adj? That sounds shitty! Thats part of the reason to get coilovers! wtf

Looks like maybe they re-designed the coilover for the TL. When I was looking in June the set up was different than the ont I am about to post pics of. The other one had light blue springs and the description was different. The description of this one says...
H&R Coil Over - Acura TL V6 2004-2006. Engineered for street and occasional track use, H&R Coil-Overs feature a fully-threaded shock body (not an imitation sleeve-over) that allows you to precisely dial in height adjustment to achieve optimum weight transfer, or simply get the aggressive look you've been looking for. Featuring H&R's exclusive dynamic damper technology, each shock is engineered to work in harmony with a progressive-rate spring, together creating a finely-tuned suspension system.
The other system did not say anything about dampening adjustemnts and I even called to double check. You may want to look into this a little more.

I have a guy a buddy who is in the industry trying to figure everything out for me! I just want to do it right the first time! But it seems like no one else on this board has used HnRs so I'll be the dummy!

H&R's are a reputable company like twigglius said, they don't have adj dampeners that is f!@? up. For the amount of money you would spend you would think that they would be adjustable. H&R's wouldn't be a bad choice of coilovers, if you were able to test both coilovers.....you would probaly not notice to much of a difference. I had H&R coilovers in my Jetta VR6 and my Audi A6 and I love them. Know I have the H&R's Touring kit on my BMW 328i and they are great, as I stated before you can't tell the difference in the comfort of the ride but handles like a mf. You might be the first one if you try it and you might have a few others to follow your lead.
