Got a quote from shop for wheels and tires

I recently saved up some money to purchase a set of wheels for my car. I decide to get RH C2 EVO. I know a lot of ppl have this kind of wheel but this is the best wheel i seen so far on the net. I mean the price of the wheel and stuff. I am planning to get BridgeStone Potenza SO-3 235/35/19 off set i think is 44
the price i got is 4800 CDN. Any of you guys think this price is reasonble? Can you post the price of your wheel if it's 19 and mono piece? I like to compare the price.
By the way i live in Vancouver

I know www.wheelmax.com carries racing hart stuff. you might want to check there. If you are concerned with price, why get S03's? I really wouldn't reccomend them if you are on a budget for 2 reasons

1, they don't last long, so you'll be replacing them more than you would another tire with a better tread wear rating.

2. these are the top tier of street performance tire out there....do you really need that? I wouldn't buy a tire like this unless I AutoX'ed and tracked fairly regularly, but I didn't want to invest in r compund tires. I think S03's are great tires, but overkill for the street. If you are pushing those tires to their limit on the street, then you need to take a valium. If you have $$$ to burn go for it, but I wouldn't get them if I had other things I was saving for.

I've been using the cheapo Kumho 712's for the past 2 years and they have been pretty good. Consider that they cost about half what an S03 costs, that's about a savings of $600 CDN I would guess. They are awesome for the money and they last and last and last. They are a little bit weak for track stuck, although I've autoX's on them a few times. The new Kumho MX might be a good comprimise as it costs in the middle of what a 712 and an S03 costs. Performance is similar to an S03 but it's still way cheaper and has a better trear wear. That is my suggestion.

Great suggestion. At least I'll be checking those tires out. On my bike it used to be so simple. Metzlers. Period. With cars it is so much more complicated... All I know is right now, my tires stink (stock)

yeah, most of what's out there performance wise is going to be a great improvement over the stock tires anyway.

What do you ride? I think I have dunlops on my CBR...not sure though. I haven't had enough miles to ditch the stockers yet.

although i returned a set of 19" c2 evos with 235/35 dayton/bridgestone tires because the back of the spokes touched the front caliper, it was us$2100. i think most 19" rh evos go around 2Gs.

Thanks for the suggestion Ray_Khan. After careful thoughts, i might get some other brand of tires that is cheaper, like the one u suggested. I can't help noticing how the price of my wheel and the price that Stanman said. If you times the price of his wheel with 1.6 which converts it to CDN, its only aroujnd 3360. My 19 inch cost me 4700. The shop quote 225/40/18 for 3200 with pirilli P7000. The price i check online is like 3500 for my 19 and the shop quote me 4800. How can this be?

Lemon~fresh....that's what we're here for bro. Always take advantage of what people here and on other forums know. There are some great places out there to get wheels. You typically get teh better deal buying wheels and tires at the same place and bundling the costs of shipping/mounting/balancing.

Not sure if the Racing Hart C2 on wheelmax and the RH C2 Evo you mention are the same thing, but wheelmax has the 19" C2 for $400 USD per wheel. So with decent tires you are well below $2500 USD or $3700 CDN. That is with top of the line tires...you can save hundreds with some middle of the line tires.

Are you getting pricing from Super Racing? Almost every Integra/Civics are running C2's. I had a set of 18's on my CL-S. But still a decent wheel for the money.

Thanks for all your suggestion. Appreciated man.

By the way i didn't get the pricing from Super Racing. I got it at a friend's store. It's also at richmond but it's called Dutcher Motor Tech i think. I was wondering if Super Racing would get a more decent price for the wheels and tires. I saw a Celic with TRD kit and 225/35/18 RH C2 EVO. It looks pretty clean and tight. That why i want to get them.

After thinkin bout the tires, i might just go with some middle of the line tires. Save me few hundred bucks instead of getting Potenza SO-3. As StanMan mentioned, it cost 2 much and last only about 1 year or 2.

I was wondering the price on wheelmax for my wheels is around 2500, and do you pay the price or u nee to add shipping/mounting. My shop said if i need to fender roll, he'll do it for free so i thought maybe it's a good deal.

My shop told me the stuff they sell on the internet are so cheap is because some of the tires are expired or maybe the wheels has some problem with it. Like the tires are stone hard or the spokes on the wheel is bent or something. I am not sure if this is true so i want to ask from you experience if this has happen to anyone?

By the way, does 235/35/19 really rub a lot?like after fender roll.? cuz i have lowered my car with H&R sport. With 4 people on the car?

Thanks again for the suggestions.
