Hmmm.
I don't think IHateCars had that issue. Not a Type-S, but I thought the links were the same.

I'm gunna call acura tomorrow and see if the end links are different part numbers as well as H and R. I'm thinking the base model has smaller end links and H and R must've used the base model to fit it. Makes sense that the upgraded suspension on the type-s would have a bigger front sway with bigger front end bushings! I will follow up and let everyone know what i find out tomorrow!

yeah i just did that! so next will be calling H and R. I can't believe it doesn't fit! How the end links are too big for a 1mm bigger sway bar is beyond me.

So the bolt hole in the sway bar is too small for the end-link bolt?
That ain't right.
I really wish IHC would read this because he put the H&R FSB in his TL. Not many people change the FSB so he's one of the few and he knows what he's talking about.
Are you sure H&R sent you the right FSB?

yeah exactly! makes no sense...the only thing i could think of is maybe heel toe sent me the wrong one but it fits up correctly....and i would take it back off but the install is a pain in the ass. I tried sending him a message but his box is full. The only other option would be to drill the hole on the sway back bigger so the stock bolt can fit....this is such a nightmare...

Call Marcus (Mr HeelToe) tomorrow. He's always been very helpful with fitment questions/issues when I've talked to him.
You might also search threads by I Hate Cars to see if he has an install thread for his FSB. If so, he might mention something.

Bearcat, thank you for the help. I talked to Marcus yesterday and he had no idea what was going because they really didn't sell many of these. After a couple hours of research i figured it out. H and R must have used an 04 model TL for the test fit. That year uses a 10mm bolt to hold the sway bar in, just like the 07 V6 accord. Same part number and everything...the 07 they beefed up the front sway thus make the bolt a 12mm to hold in the sway bar. So...i'm headed down to honda right now to order the correct end links as well as the proper nuts. Will post again to let everyone know how it turns out!

Well done.
I noticed that the end-link part number changed in '07, but there's nothing to indicate why - could be a supplier change, spec change, size change, whatever, there's noting really to tell what changed.
Didn't think to compare nut sizes.
You should hit up H&R to fix their fitment guide.

this thread got me thinking. Im ordering the type-s fsb for my 04 TL. After reading these posts, and checking part numbers. The 07+ endlinks are 12mm instead of 10mm for the previous years like the OP said.
Now, I wonder if using the 10mm endlinks (04-06) on the type-s bar will cause a problem on a 04? You could use the type-s endlinks (12mm) with the type-s bar on a 04 TL if you drilled out a little surface area on the control arm to allow the other side of the endlink to fit.
Is that a good idea to drill out 2mm on the arm? Or just use the smaller endlinks in the bigger bar?

Why not get an aftermarket (H&R) FSB and use your stock end-links?

OP, be aware that you are now putting smaller endlink bolts into your control arm. IMO, no matter how tight you make those nuts on the control arm, I think there will be some play when the weight of the car is turning.
If I were you, I would drill out 2mm on the h&r bar and use your type-s end links.

@Paperboy, i looked...couldn't really find anything for my situation....besides going with an 04 endlink. Possibly drilling the hole bigger on the Type S sway sounds like a good idea....but in my case i'm kinda screwed. I could drill the sway bigger but i don't want to mess with the integrity of the bar. However, the 10mm end link will hold that bar no problem so i'm not too worried about it. I pick it back up monday so i'll let everyone know how it turns out!

a 28mm sway bar is plenty strong to have a slightly bigger endlink hole, I'm sure! plus, with the extra strength of the h&r sway bar, it may put too much pressure on the base tl endlink? maybe.
