flush?!

Do you guys have any idea the offset needed for hellaflush? I'm going to take a wild guess and say for a 9.5" wide wheel its somewhere around 30-35???!

there are various things that are needed to be taken into consideration to get hellaflush. Are you planning on going staggered or same size all the way around. But for us to help we need to know what kind of wheel size you want to run and than we can give you advise to get hellaflush.

I was thinking about running an 18x9.5 or something in that neighborhood. No taller or wider than that. I am dropping it on H&R Sports so I don't think rubbage will be an issue and I am going to put a very slight stretch on the tires. Would prefer to run all 4 corners the same spec without spacers. Is there anything I'm forgetting?

wont be "hellaflush" without being slammed.
you'll just be "flush"
hellaflush = slammage + low offset wheels + stretched tires.

its not about the offset.

its about how you pull it off to make it flush..

imo.. are you willing to go wider and do fender mods(ie roll and pull).. or go flush with stock fenders.. etc etc..

soo.. for instance.. you can have moderate wide with high offset with fatty tires, that can be flush.

or.. super wide with low offset with super stretch and some neg camber and be flush.

my advice...

go look around at people's wheel setups around the 3G section..

maybe look up vipTL, ib18c1, scotterson, decafe1, bforbrian etc etc etc.. (i can't remember everyone.. )

see what their wheel setup was and what fender mods they've done to make them fit/work watever.. play with some numbers and go find the wheels you want.

then.. look around here and see what they've done to be on that page... or whatever you're doing this flush look for.... i dunno..

go look around.

See the thing is I don't want to slam it for various reasons i.e; Don't want to spend $ on coilovers, rather put the cash towards my S2k. Too lazy to raise in winter. Don't want to roll/pull fenders.

Hellaflush is sweet on some cars, personally theres only a couple of TL's that I think it looks good on, not to mention that I will not sacrifice my ride/handling for looks. To each their own, but I will for sure check it out. Only problem I have is people either have wheels that are no where near flush, or half their wheel in the wheel well so I can't seem to find anything along what I'm looking for.

I was being overly dramatic on purpose... no way will you ever get flush without modifying your fenders (rolling/pulling) and not running a camber of at least -2.2 degrees.

Additionally, if you are worried about roads and snow, you're interested in the wrong goals.

I daily my car and I bet that NYC roads are worst than in CT... I've driven trough most of CT towns... none compare to NYC...

Give us a more detailed description of your goals and budget for wheels and we can recommend something that can suit your specific needs.

The roads probably are most beat, but you guys get alot more traffic than I do. 95% of the time my street and most of my town doesn't get plowed until it stops snowing. TL + snow = fail....I miss my STi at times like these...anywho let me clear things up.

I am not trying to make my car a show car or baller or anything flashy. I want some nice wheels and a light drop. I never really cared for tucking or slamming as I personally have driven a handful of cars like that (MKIII VR6 Jetta, MKV GTi, dohc S13, etc.) and I HATE the way those cars not only ride buy handle. I drive my TL as hard as I drive my S2k and even though with the right wheels and drop my TL might look tits I will always pick function over form. I also hate the look of having huge negative offset so I wanted to get as close to flush as I could with a nice drop. Heres the best example I could find. This is my buddys S4, we just got back from VA picking it up and the thing drives like a dream. Its lowered on H&R coils and is running 18x8.5 BBS RXII with 225/45's. 2 finger gap front/1 finger gap rear. The stretch, drop, and flushness is perfect in my eyes and is exactly what I'm trying to achieve in the TL.

I had considered picking up a set of 08+ STi BBS's but they are 18x8.5 + 55, and I really don't want to run spacers.

Your not going to achieve "hellaflush" with H&R Sport springs... invest into the necessary components (coilovers, fender modification, etc.) if you want the "hellaflush" stance. If your not willing to invest or listen to the forum members advice because your too worried about road conditions, raising the car up during the winter because your a*s is too lazy, and or whatever excuse you have then your wasting your time. Go invest into your S2K and leave the TL as a DD.

Maybe you should read the later posts in the thread? Sorry I'm not a messege board whore that I confused a term. I DON'T want to slam my car and I am not interested in tucking half my rear wheel in the well. Seeing as I'm not looking to go any lower than a 2 finger gap then theres nothing more than spring to invest in and what I asked for was the offset needed to have my wheels flush with the fenders.

So you're not going to be "Hellaflush".

You'll be "flush".

Glad that's been cleared up!

Can you be hellaflush and use spacers to do so?? or are you only allowed to have some crazy offset wheels?

^in reality you cant be hellaflush approved with spacer, to them it is considered as cheating. =\

only way is to have crazy wheel fitment without spacer which in turn give you the flush look on the car but will cost some fender modding in the process.
