A few questions...

Guyz,
I plan to get the Katana Destiny's, in 17" chrome pretty quick here. I just dont know what the hell sizes to get. what offset, lug patern, etc. Could someone give me the numbers i need? i have a '99 TL-P, and i do plan to drop it 1.75 inches in front and rear.

I might be wrong... but that wheel at 17" comes in a 7" width, I'm thinking you can get by with a low to mid 40's offset (like around 42mm-to 45mm). Lug pattern is 5X114.3 (that, I'm almost positive). Good luck!!! But if you can... try and be patience... make sure you are getting what you really want (not to mention the right size). I must have changed my decision a dozen times before I made up my mind.

Well offset for our TL's is stock at +55, which is a really high offset and usually dificult to find on wheels for our cars. Offset is basically what determines how far out or how tucked in the wheel will actually be. IF u are runnin a 17 inch rim that is 7 inches wide, some guys say they get away with a +45 offset and cutting the rear bumper tab so it doesnt rub. since the offset is only +45, the wheel sticks out farther than the stock wheels, therefore it sticks out enough to possible rub along the wheel wells or fender edge. but guys say if you cut the bumper tab on your rear bumper you will be fine. I dont know for sure cause I dont have a 17x7 set up with +45 offset. So the higher the offset, the better the wheel will tuck into your fenders without rubbing. Hope that heps some.

Hey, Darkshear... have you ever consider 18" wheels? You must as well... especially if you're going to lower it...

Dont get anything smaller than 18's, especially if you are getting aftermarket wheels. There is just no reason to get something smaller than 18's You can get tires that are reasonable priced as long as you dont want some super high performance tires. I have 18X7.5" Konig Imagines +45 offset with a 5X114.3 lug pattern

"Darkshear" ...the man knows what he's talkin' about...

I have 19", I love them, but if I had to do it over again, I'd go 18s

from what friends say the ride is alot different from 17's to 18's... Im not sure i want my car to feel like a bimmer when i drive down the road...

Then again, the Lowenhart LD1's really REALLY look good in 18's

I saw a mb clk with the LD1's in 18 chrome. I think it looked kinda small. Maybe that is because of the lip of the rim. anyways, each to his own
well, i upgraded to 18s from stock 16s, and the ride isn't that much different. The only diff i noticed is the increased in road noise and is a bit bumpier. But these are expected since they're low profiles and are wider tires.

I have 18's on my TL-S w/ the Comptech springs and it rides just fine. The springs made more difference than the tires and wheels ever did. I got the wheels about 4 months before the springs, so this is an accurate portrayal. I got mine from Vault and I got the style called "Jade" which comes in chrome or silver. I have a silver car and the painted center is the same freakin' color which looks way cool. The offset is over 50 so they tuck in perfectly and they sit on 225/40/18's...I got Maxis tires and with tax, tag, mount, yada yada yada, the deal was still less than $1500.00 for all of them...Good luck and if you get them, please don't move to Jacksonville...
