Falken ZE-512 255/45/17

I searched and could not find any information. I found people saying Falkens get loud when wearing and referring to 255-40-17 on TLs, but no info on 255-45-17

I have an opportunity to pick up 3 Falken 255-45-17 ZE-512 tires - $85 cash for the set.

I was wondering
1) will this size fit? rub? (Stock rims)
2) anyone with experience on Falkens?

If I can get a set (4th tire for $125 at discount) for ~$200 installed, would it be a good way to go?

it will fit stock rims, no rubbing assuming you are not lowered.

No personal experience with falkens, but never really heard bad about them.

I love the 512's personally. I just put a set on my moms car and she loves them after 1 day. My girl has a set on her car, a few friends with them on theirs, and I ran them on a couple previous cars. Not 1 complaint from any of us.

I have them on my beater. I like them. They are decent in pretty much all conditions. I haven't noticed them getting loud after about 20K. They Falkens were very highly rated by Consumer Reports.

255-45/17 may be a bit big. They might look like truck tires. For the price, though, I'd give them a try. Let us know how they are on the TL. And post some pics if you can.

I'd try the 245/45/17's, wish I had. They're only 3/10 of an inch larger width and diameter wise so you should have no issues with rubbing even if you install A-Spec and lower the car about 1".

As for noise, I noticed mine starting to 'whir' after about 12,000 miles.

I had the 235s on my TL as well. They get noisy after about 10k miles, but they stick like glue in all conditions, and do well in light snow as well. I think you can still get them at Edge Racing for $89 a tire.

Thinking about either these or Toyos to replace the stockers on my new RL already.

I had them and they stuck like glue like Neuron Bob said, but they didn't last very long. I got around 20k on them, if even that. I just looked at Edge Racing's site and they have them for $72/tire before shipping. Shipping to where I live in Texas is about $11/tire.
