Too bad. Keep an eye out for our XLR8 Big Brake Kit, manufactured by STOPTECH, for the TL Base models. It will be available within 1-2 months probably.

I don't have an exact weight as I already shipped the set we had. I can tell you the package weighed about 10 lbs less than the TEIN SS package, which is significant since our coilovers include top mounts too (which the TEIN's do not have).

Hard to say which is better regarding comfort because no one has really tried these both. But the ISC N1s have more levels of dampening, which doesn't always mean 'more comfort.' The only person who is running these right now is ebelp but this is his first set of coilovers so he's more like a guinea pig.

Your right on that but I'm pretty sure they have tested and drove the new isc xlr8 coilovers over at their shop....and could comment on it......new York roads are unpredictable compared to other states, this is why I ask

Guinea pig checking in...

Correct, this was my first set of coilovers, but I have owned the Koni Yellows (Supercup kit) so I can compare with that and with the stock Type-S suspension. Obviously, nothing is going to be as forgiving on bumps and potholes compared to the stock suspension. After riding on the ISC N1's for a few months now (full soft), I can say that they have almost an identical feel as the Koni Yellows on full soft. I don't live in NYC, but I'm in upstate NY where the roads are shitty, especially this time of year from all the precipitation and snow plows. I can feel bumps and potholes, but no more than I'd expect to with a performance setup. Also, IIRC, my setup came with the "street sport" spring rates (12F/8R). There is a "street comfort" spring rate which is obviously not as stiff, and also a "track/race" spring setup which I believe are 14F/10R. I'm not sure what rates the street comfort springs are. I'd love to meet up with another TL owner who's running the Tein SS's to compare ride quality.

You guys can do more research here: http://iscsuspension-na.com/

Hey XLR8, do you have a shock dyno charts for these dampers? I would be interested to see how they compare to the typical Koni Yellow damping.

Also, does the adjustment control both rebound & compression damping simultaneously or is it only rebound adjustment like the Koni?

At this point you'll have to refer to my previous reviews since I am the sole TL owner who has this coilover setup.

Your review on them is what brought interest in me looking into them and purchasing a set......on the other hand Rep from xlr8 has tested and drove in vehicles that have tein ss....how does comfort compare to these isc?...I'm convinced they are good for peformance but what about the people who just want a drop?.......

I would think it difficult to answer your question, which seems to be looking for a direct comparision between the TEIN SS and the ISC N1s, when nobody has ridden on the N1s except ebelp based on his response. I too, amongst others I am sure, would like a direct comparison to help ease our minds as to which would be best for our personal ride goals especially in areas where roads are rough, man/pot hole infested, or under constant construction. Perhaps Josh can order an extra set for himself and give us a direct comparision but until that happens, I think the answer you are looking for will fall short of your expectations.

Or you can order a set of SS and N1's from Josh and give us your personal review! I'm sure Josh wouldn't mind your patronage.

The SS on full soft are really pretty soft. The TEIN coilovers and the XLR8 ISC coilovers are an entirely different design. The Street Comfort coilovers on full soft should be similar to the TEIN SS on full soft, although I do not have any empirical data to prove so. The SC spring rates are actually softer than the TEIN SS. And the damping adjustment range is more extensive on our coilovers.

I do not but I will see if ISC has some. I will respond tomorrow hopefully with some more info/details for you.

I love the idea of having them ready to install with top hats already on. No compressing springs or buying more parts from Acura (tops hats, etc) $$$ Like the Tein SS.

I can say I am not sure if I would go with anything but Tein SS, because they were just plain totally AWESOME

Hell yeah, the deposit has to be in by Jan 31st, so you have a few days to still put your deposit down.

I have a thread in the Photo Gallery Section. It's called The Machine's, Machine. My car is only stock now, except for tint and fog overlays. So it's not much to look at. I wish that was my car, but I think it's just a photoshopped car that doesn't really exist. I already have rims and tires waiting for spring, aspec kit and headlights are going on this weekend as well as putting new fog lights in. All I'm waiting for are these coilovers and to install everything and I should have some better pics up when complete. Mind you I have only had this car for about 1.5 months and I almost have everything I need already, lol.

LOL! I just wanted to get everything out of the way, get the car the way I wanted it and call it a day. I sold my WRX for 17k so a lot of that money went towards buying the parts for this one. I won't invest nearly as much into this car as I did that one. It's all looks with this car, I'm not getting into the performance aspect this time around.

These were my exact ambitions for my TL as well since I came from an STi, which is a whole other kind of money pit. That mindset slowly crumbled as I fell deeper into the world of AZ and found that you can do a lot of cheap to moderately priced mods that really make the car stand out. I've spent way more time and money on my TL than I ever did on my Suby and I've only owned it 1/4 of the time and I haven't even done a single thing to the motor...yet.

Still working on the shock dyno.

These are rebound adjustable only, similar to the Konis.

Good to know. That's imporant info if you plan on tuning under/over-steer with your shocks instead of just ride quality.

BTW: See if they have the dyno for TL dampers specifically. If not, it will still be interesting to see one of their other shocks, but not quite as relevant.

Thanks!

ok before i put my deposit guys, whats the difference between the street/comfort and street/sport? i think the answer is kind of obvious but i want to be 100% certain with this. ill be using this car for my daily driver and i live in NYC so I'm guessing street/comfort would be better but you recommend street/sport...so exactly how big of a difference is there and what is that difference?

^^good question They should make NYC coilovers..lol

Josh said in previous post street comfort set in softest setting will ride similar to tein ss.....This is a good thing and has me leaning towards them,I don't like about tein they don't come with top hats

The famous ht-spec coilovers IMO are not comftorble at all...not for me at least
