WOW. I had TEIN SS coilovers before and LOVED them !!!

Hard to choose. HT Spec 2, Tein SS, or these.

I want better handling, about a 1.75" drop front and rear, and a little firmer then the 08 Type-S suspension.

HELP ???

These look awesome.

I didnt like the Tein SS because they didnt include top hats.

I am leaning towards these and HT Spec 2 coilovers.

Very hard choice.

Which one should I get ???

Thanks Brothers and sisters

^^^ always depends on what your looking to achieve....

1> If you wanting ONLY 1.75" drop and tad bit stiffer suspension: Get Tein Basis and save yourself some $$$
2> If you want drop and adjustable stiffness: XLR8 (since you already eliminated tein SS)
3> If you want drop and adjustable stiffness with electronic controller: Tein SS and EDFC
4> if you want extreme drop: HTspec2

Decide what you want and get what you need

Thanks swoosh

I was so happy with Tein SS on my 06 WDP 6-speed that I am afraid if I get the basics I wont be happy. What I didn't like about the Tein SS was no top hats. I didnt want to rent a spring compressor to take the top hats off the OEM coilovers, so I went to Acura and bought all the parts for the Tein SS coilovers. Which cost me almost $200. I lowered my car about 1.75" where I could only fit 1 finger F&R. And installed a Progress 24mm RSB. I am not sure what firmness I set the Tein SS at ??? So if I get the Basics they might not be firm enough, or maybe too firm.

WOW. sorry for being so anal. If I had the $$$ I use to have, I wouldnt be so picky.

Thanks again swoosh

Just FYI, since the XLR8 ISC N1 coilovers have a fully threaded body, you can lower the car 3+ inches, the same as the HT-Spec coilovers.

Imagine STOCK spring being at 1/10 for stiffness and Tein Basis are 5/10...They are not too stiff and not to soft....just right for long drives and spirited driving....WRONG for track LOL....

Plus i have had my Basis for 80K miles now....and love em....recently i was thinking of trading em for Tein SS coz i want to be able to track my car but just cudnt justify myself spending another 700-800 on em....

I was under the impression that you could go love with the HT-Spec than the N1.....well guess I stand corrected

Preface: This is my independent off-the-cuff review after owning these coilovers for a few weeks. I am not affiliated with XLR8 other than just being a regular customer.

Prior to my purchase of the ISC N1 coilovers, I was running the Neuspeed Supercup Kit on my TL-S. I was very impressed with it, however, I wanted more freedom to adjust the ride height, so I knew a coilover setup was a must. Installation was straightforward, so no sense in talking too much about that. I liked that these ISC coilovers offer a 32-way dampening adjustability, which is more than the Tein SS or the HT-Spec Type-2's. They also have a fully-threaded body, so you can go extremely low, similar to the HT-Spec coilovers. When you hold these in your hand, you can tell that a lot of R&D has gone into the production. Everything feels robust and "connected"...the lower bracket, spring perches, springs and shocks all fit together perfectly into one uniform assembly. Nothing is loose or wobbly, it's a solid piece of engineering brilliance IMO.

The ride quality is very impressive. At the softest setting, it rides just slightly softer than the Koni Yellows on their softest setting. I love how you can adjust the dampening by "clicks", rather than having to count knob rotations on the Koni's. My TL is my DD, so I plan to keep it on full-soft for my daily commutes. I plan to purchase an RV6 strut bar (or something similar), so I have better access to the front adjustment knobs. I would love to see an EDFC-equivalent unit was offered for these coilovers. I think that would be a major game-changer, since you're pretty much limited to Tein if you want that feature.

Overall, I'm really impressed with these coilovers. The ride quality is very forgiving without being too bouncy or too stiff. As it sits now, my TL rides just slightly firmer than the stock Type-S suspension. I have a big road trip coming up in a couple weeks, so I'll get more extended feedback soon.

Take my review with a grain of salt because this is technically my first experience with a quality coilover setup and I've only owned them for a few weeks now, but I would highly recommend these coilovers to anyone in the market for a new setup for their TL.

I can't decided which spring rate I want, if you can make the 12/8 that soft I might try to man up and get the 14/10. I really enjoy good handing cars, roads aren't to bad around here in Indiana so I think I can get away with it. Idk I have never had coilovers before tho, what you guys think?

Go with middle-of-the-road spring rates and use the shock dampening to tweak the firmness to your liking. If you get spring rates that are too stiff, you're stuck with them.

Yes, I ran them 10 clicks from full soft for a while. While I could feel a noticeable difference in stiffness, the ride was comfortable and forgiving. I have not ran them all the way on the stiffest setting yet. I've been too lazy to take my back seats out and remove the front strut bar to adjust them.

^^I'll do that for you if you let me test drive, I've done it dozens of times, I'm very interested in checking these out already installed. Hey we could even do a live comparision between XLR8 and NSCK

I'm in 10984

I will be posting a new thread shortly with GB info that will include pricing for most Acura chassis codes. This will show the initial buy in pricing which saves about $150 off the market price.

I'm in for a set. Question is when the group buy starts and if you don't get the amount of people to buy them are we still going to get them at $850 shipped price?
