Drop question....

Hey guys,

Just wanted to find out your opinions. I am interested in dropping my car. I have 2003 TL-P with Konig Advant 17s with 215x45x17 tires. The rims are +45 offset. I would want to drop the car about 1.5 inches. First question I guess would be, is it possible with this offset and the size of the rim and tires to drop it by 1.5 inches? And the second question would be have you ever heard of these:

Thanks in advance for the help.

Julian

There's a chance you will rub. I have konig glides (40 offset) and 215/45 17's pirelli p7000's. I dropped the car an inch with the HR OE springs and the car rubbed so i rolled the fenders on the back and now no more rubbing!

if you drop 1.5 (and it could be a bit more), you may want to consider 48 or higher offset unless you don't mind taking the time or money to roll the fenders.

pretty much everyone on this board either goes with HR or comptech springs.

Jafids, thanks for the post. Is it possible to only drop the front and not the back? The back looks fine to me, it is the front that sticks up.

you could i suppose, but i think it will look strange. plus, you're seriously going to mess with the handling characteristics of the car if you do that since it's not uniform in spring strength. i would strongly advise against that.

someone else might have a better idea if you'll rub...you'll be close! you may even be clear but not sure.
