Yes you do, and it will eliminate any vibration that may be due to the wheels.

It eliminates vibrations because the weight on the wheels are now resting on the Hubs in the very center of the wheel INSTEAD of on the outer bolts (that can be ever so slightly off round, or have minor play causing you to feel like your tires are not quite balanced).

cTLgo nailed it: Yes you do

the wheel is locked to the hub via lugnuts. are you suggesting the rim is moving about the lugs without hub ring in place? hub rings simply center the rim more precisely while reducing the "off-center" variable.

The lug nut holes on your wheels are not snug, the weight of the can when the wheels are in motion can cause the wheels to shift if its not resting on the hub. The constant shifting will cause the vibration, there is only so much the lug nuts can do

AND if you tighten the lug nuts down more than more than the suggested torque specifications then you can damage the wheel....Take advantage of the hub rings for a factory smooth ride. No use putting on performance wheels and tires just to have a vibration introduced when you go over 70mph

Additionally if you think in terms of just "off center" variability (which can be true as well) the net result is that it still screws up the ride, and then you make a STRONGER case for the hub rings.

Hub centric rings are a must for any aftermarket wheel that is not an exact center bore fit. The only aftermarket wheels I know of that fit our cars and don't need hub rings are the RonJon wheels sold on this forum board.

I've had 5 sets of aftermarket wheels on various cars I've owned and all of them vibrated pretty bad without the rings. They are extremely cheap and will save you tire wear and annoying vibration on the highway or above 45mph.

no case to be made, hub rings are needed if the wheel bore is bigger than hub. i was just quetioning some of the other posts which suggested what they do.
