Question Do I need extended studs with 5mm spacers?

Not sure how this works. I got some winter rims for my tls and they just barely rub the calipers. I added 2 washers about 3/16" to two studs re-installed the rims and checked for clearance & they work. Felt like the lug nuts went on ok and were able to be torqued to spec. So is there any risk in running the std lugs?

I believe that the 5mm (.020") would be the thickest you can use before going to extended studs.

no. i have 5mm spacers to clear my front wheels to the brembos. no problems. no need for extended studs. as turbo said...its the max before you have to put stud extenders.

Should be no problem as long as you can do 8 full turns when putting on your lug nuts.

My wheels give me only 6 turns. HAHA too dangerous?

Stock wheels and lug nuts only give 8 turns lol, so obviously any kind of spacer would give you less than 8 turns

I want to do spacers, but without changing the studs and without using spacer/stud combo.
For some reason it just makes me nervous messing with the studs...
Just my personal preference.

Any updates on using 5mm on stock studs?

Also would I need an alignment after putting spacers on?

FYI I'm dropped on Tein/HTS on stock s-type wheels.

Thanks!
