Do dealers use torque wrenches?

When you bring your TL to the dealer for any service that involves taking the wheels off, do they use a torque wrench when putting your wheels back on? Will they tighten the wheels to the correct lbs?
Do you still double check when you get home?

They usually don't. They are supposed to use torque sticks which would limit the amount of torque applied to the nuts but I have yet to see a tech use one. This is coming also from a friend of mine who use to be an Acura tech. They tend to get lazy. I had to retorque all of my lug nuts after I had my rotors resufaced just about a month back. It felt like they zapped them on with twice the amount of force. I did my A-spec suspension install yesterday and felt how much easier it was to loosed a properly torqued lug nut.

Dealers are lazy...as with other mechanics (so to not single out just dealership techs). The "torque sticks" are great because they require no effort, just using the air gun, but even then they arent always used. I know of two separate instances with Mercedes where the dealership did not retorque the wheels after taking them off and they came off on the drive home...acura, toyota, etc...it all depends on the service department. Its easy to not want to torque all the lug nuts because using the impact might seem adequate enough...taking a chance where, odds are, over time you will get a few comebacks.

Most of them...

No.

But I'm sure they do have this torque wrench.
