I know everyone has opinions on various rims and tires, but wanted to present what I'm faced with and solicit opinions.

I have a 2004 TL 6 SP with about 19500 miles on it. I had the OEM EL42s replaced under warranty with another set of OEM EL42s at about 8600 miles. I don't drive all that hard, but do drive "sprited". In doing so, my 2nd set of crappy EL42s will need to be replaced before the Winter as I wouldn't feel safe with them.
I bought a second set of OEM 17" rims of about $400 off eBay with the though that I would run Summer only and Winter tires separately and have a clean set of rims for Summer and a not as clean set for the Winter (Road Salt etc...).
I probably should have spent the $400 on aftermarket rims , but I have what I have.
So the question is -

What would you recommend as the best Winter tire and size for the first set and what would you recommend as the best Summer tire and size for the second set?
