Debating on new wheels for my Type-S?!

Hello guys I'm new to this forum but I drive a pearl white TL Type-S all stock, and I was debating on where I can find some nice wheels and not so expensive, with keeping in mind I wanna lower and slam it a bit as well? Any ideas! Thanks! Look forward to hearing from all you TL owners!

wheels and tires and a drop is expensive.

+1

Tires $500+?

Wheels $1200+?

Drop (coils) $900+?

And that's being generous.

Don't forget the alignment, mounting tires. balance, installation of suspension, and camber kits.

Honestly though, there are a lot of people here with wheels, and a little research will reveal just how expensive, or non-expensive a set will run you. You can go with XXR's or you can go with Volks. All depends on what you want.

Lunaisa, welcome to AcuraZine.

I opted to keep my OEM Type S wheels. These wheels are special to the Type S. To me, they say, "Type S" when you see them.

If you're set on new wheels, the RonJon Inspyres look great on these cars, especially with a drop. Vossens are also sweet, but expensive.

Welcome to the forums. Tire Rack link is at the top of the page, as 96SC4 said.

Alright so just a few things...

NEVER put after market wheels on a car that is stock height. Your Type S wheels will suffice until you lower it. Stop making people with modified cars look bad by being an idiot.

If you don't know the difference between tastefully lowering and slamming a car then you need to look around a little before attempting anything.

To answer your question buy real wheels. Advan RS or Work Emotion Cr Kai.

+1 on lowering before wheels.

Aftermarket wheels look bad when there is a huge gap above them

Stock Type S wheels look good with a drop, then the drop looks even better with AM wheels.

So make your choices in the right order

Otacon has a way with words...
BUT, he named 2 wheels I have had so I am (well, not kai)

Ron, it's amazing how much our perception can change what we like...I was originally probably just a medium kinda guy, now anything that isn't extreme doesn't look right to me.

Your extreme example isn't that slammed!

I'm a million percent sure I'd rather see some spacers on the type s oem wheels if you're hellbent on not lowering.

The extreme, mild and medium lables are refering to wheels independint of suspension. I am limited in what images we have of WDP vehicles. But to show you what 18" and 19" looks like lowered, take a look:
