Dang'ed Old Curb Rash
I bought Abyss a couple months ago and all 4 wheels had a little road rash."Courtesy Car". Wheel Wizard in Greenville SC is going to repair all 4 for me. What do you guy's/gals think about having them painted a little darker gray/charcoal?
Dark Blue with a little darker wheels would it look good?
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated...

how much are they charging you for the repair? I've got two with some scuffs myself I might want to take over there.
I see what you're saying about the A-SPEC wheels. I just couldn't bring myself to paying that much extra for them although now that there's more TL's driving around greenville it would be nice to stand out a little.

Yeah, $125 sounds really high to me as well.
I've been increasingly seeing more TL's here in greenville but only one other black one with a chin spoiler like mine.
I'm going to take some fine sand paper to mine and see if it does the trick. I've read where some other people had some success with minor scuffs.

I just ordered a new set of Mille Miglia wheels from tire rack for under $200 each (Pirelli P Zero Nero's too, though not at the >$200 figure). Given that I can get new custom wheels for <$200 each, $125 sounds very high to me.
I have found a wheel shop in Elkridge MD who does this sort of work. (800-526- 8260). I'm going to give them a call. Maybe they can refurbish my stock wheels and repaint them a charcoal metallic. I think that would look good on my Blue TL. I could then get snows for those wheels (if it appears necessary)...
Just thinking out loud on that one <g>!

in terms of new tires and rims, does a rim w/ a big lip help? do the ron jons inspyre scratch up?
what about upping to 245?

I got the EV-Ss... I was also considering the EVOs (which are lighter), but then decided that the heavier ones would be stronger and I really don't need a lighter wheel, but the heavier one may be a little stronger. As I think you know, you can get a pretty good idea of what they look like on your car at Tire Rack's web site. I'll try to post a picture when I get them on, though. Probably next weekend if they get them out of their warehouse by Tuesday...

That would be interesting. Actually, I think many of us would be interested. I may take my stock wheels in to a shop in Baltimore to have them refinished, and if I do, one reason why I would would be to come up with a unique look.
