Could use some advice

So currently I'm trying to improve the handling on my 07 TL Type S and I'm looking for some advice from others. So I am noticing that the car is slightly "unstable" at higher highway speeds. The car feels sort of floaty and loose and not very planted. My thought is that it is body roll causing most of my problems but i want to see what others think.

basically what I'm experiencing is if i do slight quick movements with the steering wheel such as Right, Left then back to center not even 1/8th turns the car feels very loose and feels like its sort of "twisting". Part of the issue i attribute to having winter tires on right now. But I notice that when I have a loaded down car (4 passengers) the car actually corners much much better and feels so much more planted. My thought is that it is lower center of gravity?

basically what I'm thinking of doing is since my car has 72,000 miles on the stock suspension is replacing the coilovers with A-spec ones (and should lower slightly, i don't want to go too low because I live in New England and our roads are pretty bad and I daily dive this car) which should stiffen it up some and help with the body roll and then perhaps upgrading the RSB to the 24mm one from the stock 22mm.

The car is pretty much stock, i am looking to start the performance mods in the spring.

has anyone else noticed these same characteristics from their type S and if so how did you fix it? Thanks.

I believe we just had a thread similar to this...Basically what you are describing is normal for this Gen. of Acura TLs.

Make sure you have a good alignment. If your toe is screwed up, it will create the "unstable" feeling at highway speeds you're describing.

My alignment was checked when i put the winter tires on, and the only thing that was off was castor angle which can't be adjusted anyway if i understand correctly.

essentially i was wondering if lowering the car some and adding the stiffer rear swaybar would help with this? I'm not very knowledgeable about suspension...

i have been browsing the forums here for a long time. sorry if my thread is repeating i didn't find much about these characteristics.

First, we dont know if there is a problem, or if its an inherit sway characteristic. so, throwing parts at it might or might not fix the problem.
when my car was stock, I dont remember it swaying on the freeway.

its not normal for the car to sway.

if the car is swaying, then it's an alignment problem.
Please post up your alignment sheet.

also, swap back to your normal tires to see if it still displays the same characteristic

well when winter is over i can take off the winter tires but i don't remember it doing it when i had my regular tires on it but this characteristic is not fun. and im not a fan of these winter tires (they weren't my first choice, the contis were back ordered...) i just happened to notice that when the car was loaded down with more weight it basically glued to the pavement in corners.

i will post my alignment sheet when i can in the next couple days. thanks
