Considering 1" Drop for 05 AT. Suggestions?
With the current live.com 30% ebay cashback offer. I was considering getting the A-Spec kit, however at $455 after the promotion, it still seems pricey considering that doesn't include install.
I've seen that most people have Tein, Comptech and such, however I was hoping for some suggestions on what is economical yet reliable.
I was looking for about 1-1.25 drop. I have stock rims. I was hoping for a setup with a ride as close to stock as possible with a little better handling.
Any Suggestions? Preferrably looking for something I can get on Ebay considering i'll be getting 30% back from Micro$oft
BTW, I have about 35K original miles on the car, so I don't think i'll need shocks?
Thanks!

I will personally recommend Comptech. If you can find them go for them. They are great springs. I too am riding on stock rims and the car sits very nicely and the ride hasn't been degraded much. I can also tell you that I too am am also using my stock struts and have had no issues. I will eventually upgrade to some Koni struts but that's by choice, I don't see myself having to to that anytime in the near future.

Typically, strut type suspensions will give you about 70k miles from your stuck shocks. You're half way there at 35k. If you install only springs, you will accelerate the wear on your stock shocks and you will likely be bouncing down the highway in the next year or two.
I hope I'm wrong, but it looks like the odds are not in your favor. I'd suggest just getting the coilovers.

If your only looking for about an inch drop... why not just do the A-Spec Suspension and that way it's still OEM? I doubt you find any of the other options listed including install for cheaper than $455. Plus from what I've read the A-Spec suspension is pretty straight forward as far as installing goes.

i have an 2005 acura tl AT should i go with a aspec for a manual transmission or AT. my warranty is gonna run out soon anyways... so that doesnt mean much but i want more of a drop up fron since the back looks like its a little lower as it is.
one more question if you dont mind.
comparing aspec to teins basic, wich one would u choose and why and also wich one would be better comfort wise... im trying to get more af a sporty feeling without sacrificing the ride really since the streets around here are not the best.
with ebay having that promotion going on with 30% of i think its a good time to uprgrade wichever i choose at the end..
so please guys i need some input...

My TL can do this, too!
I haven't switched yet, but I was leaning towards the Eibachs. I don't want too much of a drop, and Eibachs are at 1.00 while the others - Teins & Tokicos - I researched had more of a drop.

bukvaman - comfort wise the aspec is gonna be way better than either the basics or ss. the drop isn't as low so the shocks have more room to travel up and down and also are softer.
the basics are going to be a harder ride than the ss. you can get the ss and set them all the way soft though, but it is more expensive for the ss.
if you want a big drop than get the teins, for comfort the aspec.

I thought the A-Spec suspension was closer to $620 not including installation. I'm wondering where you came up with this $455 figure? If I can it that cheap installed, where do I sign up?

i've had stock, then tein ss, then aspec and the aspec is the best all around combination hands down. aspec suspension was designed by the guy at acura that did the suspension for the nsx. of course, it doesn't look anywhere near as good as the tein drop.
