Concave 18's for '05 AM?? Not lowered....suggestions?

Hello all,
I am relatively new to the AZ community so bear with me.... I recently (6months) inherited an 05 AT AM NAVI with 136K. I have done only a few of the most minor newbie mods: tint, debadge, interior LEDs. I plan on ordering the 304 Stainless Steel dual exhaust tips very soon.

Anyway... I really want to get some new shoes
I really love the concave look and want to stick to 18s as this is my daily commuter and do not want to suffer on ride quality. I want to look more sporty but I am not lowered, and I dont plan on it unless I REALLY get the 4x4 look with 18s.

Being a new member, I would love to hear some suggestions for the best concave look for 18s without being lowered.....also how wide and what offset.....

Also, what color wheels look best on AM....I see a lot of black and I love it but I take clients out in my car for work and do not think the black look professional enough....your thoughts?

SUGGEST AWAY PLEASE

Yea from what i read lowering it a tad does not affect the ride quality too much but it also means $$$$$$ which i would rather not spend right now on coilovers or something of that effect......

Maybe I didnt make it clear in the OP but i would really rather not lower the car...Do you guys just think it would def look like a 4x4 if i dont lower it, and that is why everyone is suggesting lowering it?
The aspec wheels are 18 and they dont look bad if you dont lower it......
My main goal with the post was to get some suggestions on some nice looking rims....18s with the concave look.

You don't HAVE to lower the car with 18s, but most of us would suggest it. It's your car so you can do whatever the hell you want with it

How much are you trying to spend?

I am trying to spend ~1000 plus or minus a few hundred. Ideally I'd like to get the rims, be satisfied with them for a while, then get lowered if I feel the need to sometime down the line. Right now, I want to focus on the rim search.

Not trying to jack your thread (Paul Wall) I have the same color car and getting ready to put some rims on it, but iam curious to what off set to use as well? The rims iam looking at are 18x8.5 with a 245-40-18 tire, what do you all think? Should i do a lower profile? I read somewhere that 18x9s will rub?
its actually my wifes car and she loves driving it, i want the wheels to look even all around not sticking out and no rubbing!
Thanks!

someone here has the 18x9 +30 with 235/40, no fender rolls and lowered ~1.5" or so (no gap) and he said he never rubbed ... so im guessing this is the limit (if you don't want to roll fenders, run around -1 camber and no stretched tires)

If anyone can prove otherwise, im all ears!

Ive been looking at the tire picture thread and i see all kinds of off sets? -38 to +45mm? i only get one shot at this i want to to do it right! Cause iam sure they wont take the rims back if i order the wrong ones! So what do you guys recommend with the 18x8.5?

The wheel snob crew will lambast the 527s and extoll the LC818s

The everyday guy will be plenty happy with the 527s and would probably prefer the LC818s were he comfortable with dropping bank on wheels, but has other things to do with his money

Thank you, I can appreciate that. I am no aficionado so I think the 527s would better suit my want for a nice looking rim without spending as much $$$$. 527s 18x8.75 comes in +20 and +35. I am still a bit confused about the offset so forgive my ignorance, but what would give a more sporty/concave look..? Could i step up to 18x9.75 without rubbing?

I have read the definition of offset but am having a hard time visualizing.

Yes, Yes, I know, i know nothing about rims....trying to learn though.

^itsll good.. once u figure it out u'll wonder why it took u so long lol its a tricky concept to grasp.

but u will forsure rub with 9.75..... the safest size to get WITHOUT stretching tires or rolling fenders would be 18x8.75 +35.

It probably wont have a concave look tho.... If you want concave.. you have to sacrifice ur fenders lol
