Comptech vs A-Spec

What one rides better, and lowers the car more, or is it a toss up? My budy has a 03 CLS with comptech springs and he says it rides nice, and is fairly low. Anyone know how low the CT springs will drop a 05 TL? Thanks! Just wanted some feedback between the two.

IMO, the Aspec suspension will ride closer to OEM vs the Comptech. The CT will drop the front about 2.1" and the rear 1.5". Aspec about a subtle 1". BTW, new version of the CT is the same spring as Eibach pro-kit. Here's a link Lowering Options for some other info on springs.

I know that Comptech drops you a little more than an inch, but it drops you 2.1" in the front? That doesn't sound right.

The A-Spec only drops you less than an inch. When first installed, I measured a .5" drop. I did not measure again after the springs settled, but it could not have lowered itself dramatically after that.

I got the A-Spec because it was a matched spring & shock option.

PoochaKann, I stand corrected, the 2.1(ft)/1.6(r) was for the 4041.140 kit (99-03) and the 4044.140 kit (04/05) is 1". Don't know what the drop will be after settling.

after the comptech springs settle, they should sit about 1.25 front and rear.

Do the Comptech Springs w/ Koni Yellows ride A LOT harsher than the Aspec suspension. Im tossing and turning between these two set ups. From what i know from reading is that the aspec suspension gives you a minimal drop but is more forgiving on the bumpy roads but my question is is the comptech set up that harsh on bumpy roads?

when purchasing/leasing, will the dealer allow you to interchange the aspec springs for ct springs?

If you're getting anything from the dealer it's an Acura part (meaning a-spec) or nothing at all. You can always buy aftermarket (Comptech) parts of course and pay them to install for you, if it's a leased car you'll need to think about putting the original parts back on the car though before you tradein your lease.

I have comptech springs with Koni shocks and ride quality is very good. Its obviously not as smooth as stock but very close with better handling.
