guy wanted two hours labor to install the comptech sway bar. gotta be kidding me right! NO........he wasn't........i am positive there must be a better place in the City of Chicago to get this thing installed for a fair price. and sorry fellas this is not a DIY for me.

but the sway bar arrived today thanks to aofeparts from ebay. $95.00 gets you the sway bar packaged very securely i might add. $10.00 bucks for shipping, or you can pay more to have it arrive earlier

call up your dealers aroudn there... a lot of dealers will install them. mine did for no extra charge when they did my a-spec. he said it took them 10 minutes or something like that.

different acura shop, same manager as before...........now he only wants $75 to do the install

The Acura dealers are a rip off for something like this. Know a local independent gas station/repair shop? It's a 10 minute or less job once the car is on the lift. My local shop I've been doing business with for years did it for $40. After all, it's only 2 nuts and 4 bolts.

don't go to dealers if there are local places that can install the sway bar. dealers a ripoff whenever it comes to labor.

thats funny cuz the guy who wanted 150(two hours labor) at first, and now only 75(1 hour labor) told me the same thing. "bring it to me, the dealers charge too much for labor." what a hypocrit

Agreed!!! Garage Kwai is not to expensive for installs but they actually know what there doing. They know Acuras and Hondas inside and out.

can this be done w/out removing the drivers side wheel. like if you back your car up on two wedge ramps. i wasn't sure if the driver side wheel had to come off for space/fitment issues. reason being i don't think i could back up onto the ramps with one wheel off. did that last sentence sound as stupid as i think it did?

I'm actually going to give this thing a shot myself. i'm going home for easter, and pops has tools for the install.

But I do know for sure none of the wheels have to come off if the car is raised up on a regular repair shop lift.

my fiend did mine on a reg. 2 ton jack without taking off the wheel or exhaust. just gotta twist the bar around

It absolutely can be done without taking the wheel off. I did mine and my friend's using ramps. Do a search on Comptech in this sub-forum and look for the thread I started a few weeks ago. I have a list of "tips."

First off, let me say a big thanks to lore and wakattack for their great write up's on how to install the sway bar. This is the first time I have installed anything on a car besides a car radio. It took me about 40 minutes to put in, and I had no problems thanks to the guys mentioned above. I would also definately recommend using the ramps if you have access to such equipment. It was alot easier doing it this way than using a jack.

Secondly, I feel like I have a completely different car now that the sway bar is installed. Almost zero body roll, and it's amazing how much better the car handles thru turns and what not.

This is a must buy! Very inexpensive, easy install, and the results are outstanding for such a reasonable mod.

I have a 05 6MT. Is there any significant benefit in just installing the Comptech RSB?

Just did it (yesterday) w/o taking the wheels and the exhaust out. Very quick and easy. Drove on Highway 1 near Pacifica after that...the car felt much better.
