Comptech Springs??

Are these worth the little money they cost? seems like a cheap upgrade and an easy way to drop the car a little bit. Anyone have them?

from what has been said here they are the same as the eibach prokit... so they are really good springs... rumors also are that if the dealer installs them they will warranty it... no idea if it is fact or mere a creation of someones imagination

ps. they do look like they sag in the rear just like the eibach prokit...

The rear does sag a bit. I have the Eibach pro kit which is essentially the same thing.

ive been riding on them for about 2 years now and havent had any problems with them. And the dealer will warranty them if they install them but they quoted me about $600 2 years ago so i had a shop install them for $150 instead. But no problem yet with the springs. The tokiko shocks compliment the suspension well with the comptechs also.

~$200 plus shipping from site vendors. Check ATLP, Excelerate and Mr Heeltoe.

My shipping was ~$30 from CA to NC. That Ebay link above "quoted" $53 -

Contact the guys who support the site and give them a chance to give you a good price.

It has come to my attention that Comptech springs came in 2 colors, silver and bluish black. The bluish black springs are indentical in appearance to Eibach Prokit. If I remember correctly Eibach manufactured Comptech springs to its unique specification.

I'm not sure if Eibach manufactured the silver springs though. In addition, if you search for "broken spring" in the CL forum, you'll find a few threads of people who got their silver Comptech springs broken in pieces. Apparently, it's due to improper manufacturing process so the spring wires are rusty under the powdercoating.

I was going to buy a set of Comptech silver springs before but decided against it, just because of the reason above. The silver springs for 04-08 TL (same for 03-07 Accord V6) may or may not lead to the same failure, but I wasn't going to take that chance.

1. This is what the auction says:
....

2004-2008 ACURA TL (6 CYL ONLY WILL NOT FIT TYPE-S)....
TL-S is part number 50106. Don't know what the difference is (if any).

2. Yes. Great on the TL-S, IMHO.

Dont buy springs to lower you car..
YOU GOING TO DAMAGE your original shocks within about 6 months..
....(IT HAPPENED TO ME).....
And your new car will be jumping starting with the front shocks..

Your best bet is to purchase the whole strut/sprint kit,
Mine's is a TEIN Basic Coilover Kit. ($750)...
I had them for over 2 yrs 1/2 and they'v been working perfect for me...
Stiff, no jumps,, and when you need service , TEIN offers service repair for a flat rate (just ship them the shock when you need service and they re-oil it, new bushings, etc...)
