you need to make sure you still within the specs of over all diameter.

I would look for a wheel calculator so it can tell you EXACT OVERALL diameter of stock wheel/tire vs what you looking to get. Since if you deviate a lot from it, your Speedometer will not tell the correct speed vs what you will actually be traveling.

ALSO... rubbing of the wheels does not depend on a tires as much as it depends on the offset of the RIM you actually getting.

for going offtopic but 3putt can u take a closer shot of ur rims and the fender, cuz i want to see the wheel gap with ur comptech drop. I have comptech drop and i'm thinking of putting 18s too so i was wondering how much is the wheel gap there.

thanx

With an 245/40/19 wheel the diameter would be 1.5" more than stock. Does anyone know how much that would offset my speedometer?

it should not change that much. it will just be off by a tiny fraction.

How much has your 245/40/18 wheel and tire setup affected your speedometer?

3PUTT nice set up. Your TL looks good.

Do you have any pics of the entire car from the side?

based on the road radar guns set on some of the streets in NJ. the speedometer is still correct. there seems to be a big misconception out there that the speedometer gets affected by a lot when changing to a +1 setup. the change is really tiny...very fractional...

your speedometer will be off by 4 mph

stock overall diameter is: 25.33

new wheel set up diameter: 26.72

4mph is not a lot... but it is a lot when you clocked going 79 vs 83 in some states it could make a difference.

Thanks SK7......4mph is about 6kmh in Canada. I guess it just something I would have to be aware of when driving slightly over the speed limit.

You would think that with all the technology in the TL we would be able to input the wheel and tire specs into the computer and it would adjust the speedometer.

3PUTT whats the offset on your wheels

is it 18 x 7.5 or 18 x 8 or 18 x 8.5 or 18 x 9

Could you take a pic for me from the back to show how flush the wheel is with the body

as well as how does the 245/40 tire sits on the wheel.

thanks

For those asking for closer shots of the wheel/tire gap, i will not have my 18" set on until after my mods have been installed because i will dyno the car again right after these mods are done. i need to keep the same tire/wheel setup to be able to make a valid comparison to my baseline numbers....sorry....
