Compliance Bushings with Lowering Kit
Hey guys,
I'm thinking about lowering my car about 1 inch just to close the gap between the wheel arch and tire. Nothing crazy but love the look.
I've searched for bushing threads but nobody really asked or answered what I was looking for.
Question: Does the compliance bushings wear out faster with a lowering kit?
I am planning to replace struts on all four corners and getting lowering springs. I haven't looked at the bushings yet but will replace them if they are bad or have premature signs just in case.
I know some of you guys would recommend coil overs and such, but I'm not a big modder. Just big into maintaining the car. I mainly just go for the nice, sleek, and subtle look. Who knows, maybe your tips will even just keep my car stock too....
Thanks for the help!

I can't give you a conclusive answer, one way or another, but I believe it should not lower their lifespan. My car has been riding on the A-spec struts since day 1 and that lowers the car about 3/4-1" from stock. Soon after, the previous owner of my car kept the a-Spec struts on and installed lowering springs on them to drop the car a little more.
I recently replaced my compliance bushings- the car has 120k kilometres on it ( 75k miles). There was some wear on them but I have seen much worse and after changing them out I noticed no improvement in handling, so I likely could have kept driving on them for some time.
I don't think dropping the car will result in a shorter lifespan. The bushings, however, are notorious for premature wear.

I don't believe it would change much if anything to the life expectancy of the compliance bushings.
1 inch doesn't not completely disturb the geometry of the suspension anyway as opposed to very aggressive drops.
