CL-S Wheels on TL-S

Has anyone ever put CL-S wheels on their TL-S? I want to get the 7" wheels so I can get wider tires, but maintain the "stock" look. Any problems? It seems to me it should be a straight swap, but I want to make sure.

I'm looking at these - any idea what these go for?

I believe you can put CLS rims on your TLS. Should be a straight swap.

IMO, don't go through the trouble of getting CLS wheels unless you already have a buyer for your TLS wheels..

the .5 difference will not make you handle a whole heck of alot better than upgrading your current tires and maybe get some sways..
If you go for these CLS wheels, you will have to buy the wheels AND new tires, and have your TLS wheels which are almost identical lying around..

save your time and money and get new tires and sways instead.. to keep the stock look..

A better alternative is to get some aftermarket ones that are even wider, so that that you can put better tires and have nicer looking wheels than stock..

and you can have your TLS wheels as a backup or sell them so the upgraded cost isn't as much..

I want to stay stock looking so I don't attract too much attention and have that sleeper affect when needed.

I've got springs and sways installed, and that's what has started me looking for new tires. I keep overdriving the tires, especially on curves. Those stock Michleins sure can howl when pushed.

But bigger tires mean bigger wheels, at least according to manufacturer specs.

Trust me, the .5 wider wheels will not make a significant enough difference because the wheel is basically the same thing in terms of diameter, and weight. The tires will just mainly look better on the wheel.
I can tell from what you said about manufacturer specs that you are probably looking at some 235 tires. As the 225 is the recommended max with the TLS 6.5 wide wheel. Although, I think there are a few who are using the 235 tire on thier TLS wheels.
Even if you do change to the CLS wheel, they are STILL afterall, the Acura OEM heavy Type-S wheels..
Invest in some Bridgestone SO-3 tires instead.

But of course, it's your money to spend. I just hate seeing someone spend money on something they don't need. Good luck, and post results of what you decide.

A lil late but...I wouldnt do it unless it was a clean swap. I agree with edub-tl on this one and save your money for tires instead. I only did it because Veilstlez offered a clean swap...now I'm pulling my hair out because I want to get 4 sumitomo 235/45 tires, but I have 3 perfectly good/new tires my insurance company gave me. Now the question is should I just replace that 1 tire? or go for all 4 with the sh*tty economy and all. It's a $100 vs $500 question.

You can do it but you will be better off simply by tossing the stock Michelins.

I put on 215/50/17 Dunlop SP9000 and it's much more difficult to get VSA to kick in.

if you think about it, slapping wider tires on the tl-s wheels is better because you get slightly more fender lip clearance than the cl-s wheels. albeit the difference is very little, it's still a PRO for using the tl-s wheels...and you already have them. plus going to a half-inch wider rim usually means you can stretch the tire width range an additional 10mm more than what a 6.5 "wide rim can handle.
