Im about to get some rims for my TL, and was wondering is it better to get chrome or silver rims. I have a black TL.

Unless you really dislike either one there are many reasons to get both. If you want a wheel that is the easiest to keep clean then chrome wins hands down. A silver wheel can result in some of the best color contrasting between the wheel and body color. Looking at some of the hundreds of examples here on the forum should help you narrow your decision.

Exactly, SILVER. Unless you have gold teeth, then I would go for the Chrome. Pick up a baseball cap to match, make sure you leave the tag on it.

Chrome, especially since you have a black car.

it depends on what you plan for the future. Fo you ever plan on clearing or blacking out your headlights? Tinting the car? Smoking the tails and sidemarkers? Painting the grille NBP? IF you plan on going with the darker look, go with the silver color as it will keep the car subtle. If you plan on clearing out the lights, then go with chrome as it will make the car stand out.

Sorry. I was just being a dick. I bought a set of used 05 chrome TL wheels for my silver 07 TL-S. The chrome overpowered the silver, making it look dark. But on dark color cars the chrome looks nice. I got a lot of good comments on them. I just don't like chrome much. I prefer machined or polished aluminum.

I have a NBP with Chrome rims and it looks nice! Silver doesn't say anything to me, too bland, gets lost in the picture. I have pics if you want to see them, or just go here:

I have to agree with Darksom, here are a couple of pictures of silver and black chrome on a black tl, and above darksom's chrome wheels. I would have to say the chrome, black, and gunmetal look the best on black cars!
Plain silver aspec wheels

black chrome aspec wheels

NOT, 1/2 my friends are diff then me. You brought it up, I didn't. Lots of Gang bangers of all backgrounds around me. Gang bangers was what I was talking about. Chrome does look nice on dark colors, NOT on my silver.
