this might be a dumb question but what is the need for the wheel spacer? not really sure and wouldn't you just buy a wider rim?

Was thinking the same thing.....and with wheel clearance issues with fenders on many of the 3G TL's...this might not be the thing to do? What size rims?

Actually a 5MM wheel spacer to help you get clearance for a BBK is fine. H&R's wheel spacers are top notch and I use them on customers' cars to help clear the caliper. There is nothing wrong with wheel spacers as long as you use longer studs or lug bolts.

Yep been there done that with a 3mm spacer. If you get a 5mm get the one thats hubcentric 5mm almost means the wheel isn't going to reach the hub. The nicer hubcentric spacers are decent and shouldn't have too much of a vibration.

you will have zero vibration with h&r spacers. as mentioned though, you need to use the longer studs they supply, or your wheel could fall off!

I used to run 10mm H&R hubcentric spacers b/c I want the Audi A8 rims on my A4. The bolt pattern was correct but the offset was off.

Running a set of 10mm change the offset of the rims to 38mm, which is close enough for the A4.

I ran that setup for a good 3+ years and never had a vibration issue. I even took my car to a track event and an autocross.

You might need longer stud, for the audi it was pretty easy as we have wheel bolts instead of lug nuts. And also make sure you torque the wheel down with a torque wrench.

I got my spacers and bolts from ecs tuning - pretty popular place for the Audi crowd. I'd say call them.

Anything more then 3mm really requires h&r or something just like it, hubcentric spacers. Last i checked they were like $50 a piece and you need longer studs and need to install it.
